Cinematic sense is not about reading a story but about imagination. Although i havnt read the book but would love to only for the last part, cause i think it was cut short just to fit our 3 hr movie business. The story is beautifully told , if u read a novel and cry ( its not like u cant cry at a music video) its no big deal . I believe given a chance the best you could have done was to write this dumb review and sit back and watch the action Parineeta is a must for cinema lovers , the interpretation is totally upto you.
The most obvious reason of parineeta been compare to music video is vidya balan , honestly she is no diffrent from her euphoria video , the director should have cast a fresh face nor someone who has appeared in same get -up before in music video & advertisement .
I am shocked by SUmit BHattacharya's comments on PARINNETA. It seems he has lashed out at the movie just because he is Bengali. He has admitted that he hasn't even read the novel PARINEETA. How can he compare a film dapated by a novel he hasn't read and the novel of same author which he has read. It's almost stupid comparing the two. Actually, it's commendable for Saratchandra CHattopadhyay that he wrote variety of novels. I also shocked to read that Sumjit likes Sabyasachi's work as Saif's dad. I think, he overacted. Sumit has conveniently praised all bengali people in the movie such as Saif, Sabyasachi, Sarkar (ironically for making the film look like music video) and Santanu Moitra. This is horrible prejudice. If this man has praised DEVDAS, it's more horrible and he is worst critic in the world. One positive thing he has conveniently overlooked is PARINNETA is an honest and simple film made without any hypocrisy (as bhansali's DEVDAS had). I also think Sumit doesn't understand music videos also. If the visuals look great, it doesn't become a music video. Please do your homework Sumit. Don't just flaunt BIG words. Just accept that you are biased for Bengalis. Grow Up!!
Pradeep Sarkar & V. Chopra are not filmmakers, they are magicians, they have created a masterpiece, It is a milestone in Hindi Cinema. They have ensured their names in Hindi cinema history. Worth a Oscar, Don't miss it
after receiving much flak over Patcy.N's utterly idiotic reviews, looks like rediff has resorted to two review method. One praises it, the other trashes it. Rediff, do it once, and do it well. No need to give such starkly contrasting reviews at the same place. After reading the first review, i felt like maybe watching the movie, after the counter point, felt like its a complete trash. Let us know what you think, rather than try to appease to every form of opinion there is. Looks like you guyz are suffering from an identity crisis.
