I really like it. Ajay played a very nice role. I must appreciate the Karan's work. I think, First time he didn't pick shah-Rukh as a lead role and turned from family and romantic Drama to this kind of movie. I like his Romantic Movies but he should make this kind of movies on the regular basis.

After seeing all the prmos and songs aired on TV both my husband and myself were eagerly waiting the release of Kaal...to say we felt let down is an understatement.
The biggest let down was you expect them to show you more wild life complete with tigers etc whereas except for few min during Ajay Devgan's entry to be precise not much is seen. However all the interviews and promos kept talking and we even read a statement "Tigers are the real hero of this movie".
Wonder what state of mind Soham was in when he planned the movie - horror, thriller, adventure? And for the sake of glamour we have Esha Deol in skimpy outfits who not only look inapproriate and impractical in the movie but also down right vulgar. I can still buy the statment where actress say - "I can expose if the role demands it" - in this movie I wonder what explanation can Esha give as we hardly expect a National Geographic Photographer's wife going with her husband on a wild life safari to dress so tardily. Dhoom hangover? Esha's dressing in this movie is a disgrace to her mother who is always associated with dignity and respect - which she still commands. She needs to realize just stripping will not make her more popular and learn by looking at her mother's career/life itself - her mother is the epitome of both beauty and Grace...
Coming back to the movie the characters of both Vivek and John do not seem to have any emotions attached and behave like macho men even when they see the death of their friends. We see them comforting the girls only - who says men dont have emotions?
The end is too sudden - the entire explanation is given in the last 5-7 minutes and we wonder what the director was really trying to say in the movie. That ghosts exist? Superstions like black cat coming on the way and getting killed meaning bad omen are all true?

After coming out with wonderful movies like Kuch Kuch hota Hai and Kal Ho Na Ho...we expect something better from you Karan!! Change the genre of films if need be but make it sensibly.

hey guys..... give us a break.....kaal's a good movie and the rave reviews just go on to substantiate this claim. but of course, this movie had its share of sloppiness and WHY VISHAL WHILE SHOOTING FOR THE 3 TIGERS WITH THE GHOST, COODN'T SEE THE GHOST NOT COMING ONTO THE SCREEN....such sloppiness outta established names such as KJ and SRK wasn't expected......but trust me, overall the movie is worth a watch....!!!!

I saw Kaal Yesterday..It was so not Karan Johar Movie...specially where they show just 3 dog looking tigers, i would rather pity on that tigers who looked like they havent been fed for 5 yrs....& yeah did sumone noticed they were trying to mix THE RING 1 in the scene where Isha Deol goes to the well oh what a sick thing..KARAN needs to maintain his standards..Subash Ghai has lost his standards now not Karan as we need good directors..i was expecting they would sing a song like fardeen n Urmila did in Jungle HA HA but thank God they didnt....in short waste of time and a very low standard movie.....

Junk review for a class movie...
by Sumeet_run_while_YOU_can on May 03, 2005 11:47 PM

Sumeet,

Did you actually understand the concept of the movie at all ?? You really thought this was going to be a "Save the tiger" drama!! I guess you must have been busy watching those mindless hollywood movies like "Scream" or "I know what you never did last summer" that you wrote such a pathetic review.

I thought this movie changed hands and grips so often and scared the crap out of everyone in the cinema halls I was watching!! I don't know what makes you think Vasstu-Shastra was better, Kaal is clearly a better movie...in that it imbibes the 'fear of the unknown' in you. You think that there will be a tiger or someone doing kill rounds but only later to find out an amazing twist to it.

Sorry that you didn't get the movie, maybe you need to stick to hollywood watching rather than appreciate the brilliance of a debutant director who in my opinion has excelled in all areas that I can think of. And I also think that you'll be proved wrong for predicting Kaal as a failure..it's running packed houses here on a weekday!!

HI, did anyone notice that, when Vishal was taking the video in which Ajay Devgan was there (or not there), why didnt he see that despite being there ajay didnt come in video?, why only at the end when Vivek Oberai played the video he saw that Ajay Devgan was missing???
