Is Amitji over exposed?
by Shekhar Kahate on Apr 21, 2005 03:32 PM

Dear Sir,
Amitji is definitely a great person who has struggled all through his life and made a name for himself. But he should be judicious in allowing himself and his name getting ulitilised. I would like to name Mr. Sunil Gavaskar who is a celebrity but he takes his decisions very judiciously when it comes to his name getting involved. After all he has played very well and earned a name for himself. He doesnot allow himself to be taken for granted and involve his name in any activity where he is not properly placed.
So Amitji should also take a cue from this and be judicious.

Yours faithfully,

Shekhar Kahate

No way!!! No film maker/Advt Agency focus on you unless you have some telent to offer.
You cannot just like take away alround ability of legend actory by lebelling "Over Exposed".
It is unrealistic and unfare to do so.

AB is absolutely great
by Neeraj on Apr 21, 2005 10:29 AM

AB has defined what a 60 year old actor can achieve - he still is the superstar and rules the entertainment industry (I hate to refer it to Bollywood!).

But I guess he is over indulging in advertisements. He is pratically endorsing every other product in the market.

I think he should be little discreet about signing more advt....

is amitabh over exposed.

Amitabh is living legend. Whatever he does he does
with grace and authenticity. Personally, I like to
see him in every activity of my life. I get energy
and enthusism, for my work from him. At the age of
60 he still has cherisma of youth. In BLACK he is
simply marvellous. From the time, I saw BLACK, my respect for him has increased many fold. I do not
think that any level of exposure is over exposure
for the person like him.

Amitabh is Great
by HemO on Apr 21, 2005 10:00 AM

There is no doubt that Big B is really great. But seeing him in most of the commercial advertisement, 1 out 3 movies is no charm at all. Earlier people use to wait for his movies. Now people say hey this guy will be there in most of movies.
I think and its my personal opinion he should restrict himself to quality stuff like Black etc.
Doing a Polio campaign is a good deed.

He is a super-star and will remain same irrespective of the work!!!
by Vijay on Apr 21, 2005 09:37 AM

Amitabh Bachhan--- A name which doesnt need any introduction in Bollywood and even now in Hollywood!!!A brand name which sells like hot cake even if the cream of the cake is fading with the age and time!! True that he should be choosy @ the films and Ads he his doing but why are we forgetting that even if we critisize him still we would like to hear him talk and watch his Fantabulous acting which is still young and happening.
I personally feel like doing movies or Ads which doesnt really count or add feathers for his talent makes any difference to his image cos he comes back with a bang..with movies like Black and Ads like Rin...Maine Poochan Kya,which stay long in the minds of people.I feel encashing urself till ur r sellable is proper cos after sometime people will look for change as gr8 Big B will get older and older.Even the King Khan SRK accepts the fact that money matters and encash till ur hot...Kya Pata Kal Ho Na Ho!!!
I feel Big B shd continue the act what he his doing and we will just wait n watch the mesmerising effects of his evergreen talent....Till Then Happy Living!!!

A mediocre actor with a world class brand name
by Subhadeep on Apr 21, 2005 08:40 AM

Amitabh is a highly over-rated actor who has got away with extremely mediocre and melodramatic, loud acting because of a brand name that he has built over decades. In terms of acting skills he does not even come close to an actor of the calibre of say, Aamir Khan, whose effortless portayal of diverse characters from the mundane to the very complex makes him probably the best character actor in the country today.
Amitabh built his brand in the decades in which being loud and melodramatic was the norm, and to succeed you needed to have a certain 'style' of your own. Other mediocre actors of today still follow this norm (SRK, for example).
Coming back to the question asked, yes, Amitabh is over-exposed. But it is debatable whether it would make any difference if his exposure were to be limited. His fans, and there are millions of them, look upon him as God, and as is the norm in our part of the world, hero-worship knows no limits. To most of us, he can do no wrong, his performances are always 'legendary' and his histrionics are 'landmarks' in Indian cinema.
To be fair, I'm yet to see 'Black'. Praise has been effusive, but from past experience, I'm not holding my breath.

Well we need more and more of him..........
by Surya on Apr 21, 2005 01:30 AM

All I would like to say is he's so versatile in his appearances, performance and everything he does and this makes us feel more comfortable with him and see him as one whom we know better than anyone else. He's deifintely an ICON with a difference. He deserves what he's today and there's a lot one can learn from his life even.He went to Rags from Riches and again he built himself up. If life has shown him the best he has also seen thw worst of it.

Personally speaking he is the best and deserves the best his humbleness, honesty in talk is worth realising and following.I really wish to be one like him. My best wishes to him
