The living Legend

Amitabh Bachchan ruled the silver screen those days & he still does !! Even today his movies are major crowd pullers. When he started acting again some critics commented that he should stop acting now !! It was so annoying that some audiences too agreed the same. But dont u think till the time Mr.Bachchan is acting 'his age', its completly fine & justified ? Their comments would have been fine had they said about Lal Badshah or Suryavansham, where he was too old for those roles. But now he is a pure entertainer. But as a sincere fan i would just like to add that he should be now very selective about the roles & not just take up anything that comes his way. For an actor of his calibre, he should restrict himself by working only with promising directors & challenging roles. Not that he doesnt have a wide scope ! I must say, we enjoy every frame that has Amitabh Bachchan in it !! He still ROCKS !!

Big B- Over exposed ?
by Sony on Apr 21, 2005 05:07 PM

My view is, first of all we must think , why is he doing so much work ?
We all know, that he was in deep financial trouble. By working so hard and so much he is out of it.
So there is no point thinking, why he did films like Boom, ATHWS etc.
It is a pleasure watching him in every frame of a film and on every TV channel and every friday in new 'avatar'.
We all love him. We are still (after being 'over-exposed') mad after him.
So why should he stop acting and appering on screen ?

Over-exposed? Maybe, but who cares!
by Rakesh on Apr 21, 2005 04:10 PM

My view is the legendary Amitabh hasn't yet passed his 'sale by' date, but maybe he realizes that the date is on the horizon. I suspect the 'not so good' start of Abhishek's career trigerred Amitabh's wish to work over the edge to generate maximum revenue selling himself in order to ensure the future of the Bacchan family and to pay off the huge debts he was in after the widely reported failure of his ABC production company.
Amitabh sometimes reminds me of Amrish puri whose famous face and voice I used to find in 8 out of 10 movies released. So, in a way, 'yes, I do believe Amitabh is over-exposed', but I also believe this is in a good way, as public would never get bored or tired of great screen legends like Amitabh Bachhan or Amrish puri.
Amitabh, with his great personality and acting gives any movie or advertisement he is in, a fine 'aura' and you simply can't get your eyes off the screen.

AB not overhyped, he is what he deserves
by Kunal Deo Shukla on Apr 21, 2005 03:49 PM

Hi all,

We all agree that AB is being over exposed, but to understand the reason behind all these over exposure, one must understand that he is also a human being. He is a live example of a real Hero, who was almost finished as par as financil status is concerned. however he fought back with zeal and again has regained the status financially as well. Now everyone is aware that AB is cross 60, in fact he is 63 years old till date.
Now considering his age and the time that he has faced in the past, who would not like to secure his life and life of their children. Considering the fact that he has seen almost bankruptcy in his life, would he not wish to secure his life and the generation next.

No doubt he is demigod for the film kingdom. Probably the most popular and most loved one- considering his popularity in India and middle-east, and South African nations. We should give him praise the way carries the responsibility of being what hes is, so nicely and no one can claim that he is guilty of any wrong doings as can be targeted with many other small time stars.

So please let him be the demigod of filmdom, but even then let us realize that he is a human being too.

Great Superstar forever

Amitabh Bacchan is not comparable with other Film Stars. All the other stars like Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan............ are just kids in the acting area.
He has his own natural way of acting while ohers just copying. Thats why he is great and because of his greatness everyone wanted to be with him in any way. Media is exposing the "KHANS" and not others and if u think in a broad way then you peoples will agree with the subject.

is Amitabh over exposed
by Laveen Ajwani on Apr 21, 2005 02:32 PM

I am a big fan of THE Big-B and yet I agree that he is Over-exposed but he still RULES and ROCKS. I would compare him to the sea which occupies 79% of the globe area and is definitely over-exposed compared to the land but yet there are people who love the sea so much that they spend their time and money to go see it and enjoy every moment of it. We all know the effect the sea can have on humans. When it is quiet, it seems like just a time-pass as if it has nothing better to offer something like what people think of Amitji being repetetive in his movies but when the same sea shows its power in form of Tsunami or BLACK in case of Bachchan sahab, the world takes notice. He is over-exposed but yet no one has been able to tap the complete talent that he has. Like in the case of sea, no one has been able to judge the vastness, the depth of the talent and the variety that the MAN has. He has achieved so much that calling him a mere mortal man itself seems a mistake. Yes, he is in the latter half of his life but certainly not past his prime, in-fact people like Big-B and Al Pachino will never cross their prime with the bundle of talent and energy that they posses.
The medium of Television became a strong force since the success of KBC. He endorses so many products that keeping a count is difficult, much more than anyone including "GOD" of Cricket - Sachin or "SHAH" of films - SRK. What does it mean? It means that so called Superstars may come and go and have gone but Big-B is beyond them. How many senior great actors have had people writing roles for them, None. That is why people dont call Him GREAT or SUPERSTAR, he has become a PHENOMENON
