come out of Denzel Washington comparison
by Tanoy on Aug 28, 2004 01:45 AM  | Hide replies

It's no doubt good movie and good attempt. Reviewers agreed also but did not forget to put her useless comment. Abhishek Bachchan is the finest actor of his generation. You don't need to compare him with living legand Denzel Washington. I am asking you the question before watching the movie do you keep Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks in your head for Phialdelphia. watch the movie from its present content not from the point of other famous hollywood movies.

Absolutely. I don't understand on what grounds do all the critics do these comparisons. First of all, no two reviews will be similar, I wonder if there is any criteria for a review at all.

A very decent, sensitive heart-touching movie. Excellent performances form the lead actors ... Abhishek is too good, especially in the climax ... He goes one step further after 'the role' in YUVA . Way to go ...

I agree to both the posts before this. We don't really need to compare Abhishek with Denzeil Washington.

Abhishek is very natural in this film. No over acting. He is getting better film by film.

Best ever performance by Shilpa Shetty.

Nothing to say about Salman since he has very less part in movie.

The real hero is Revty, the director. Very good, sensitive and flawless direction.

Abhishek Rocks
by Nishank on Aug 28, 2004 01:45 AM

The film is utterly slow in the first half... almost bordering on boring. The premise is to long.. and it isnt till Abhishek comes that the filmgaind momentum. As a young lawyer, Abhishek infuses the right kind of exuberence required foir sucha role. The reviewer has obviosusly seen the film, pity she didnt see the audience reaction around her.

AIDS!!!!!
by Amrit on Aug 27, 2004 09:46 PM

Very good story. As a doctor,I think that Bollywood has approached a very sensitive topic in a right manner. As India is #2 in AIDS now, something like this needed to come.People need to understand and learn the facts.AIDS, HIV is killing people in India more than any other death causes. The usual time for HIV to turn into AIDS is 8-10 years, however in India it takes only 2-3 years because people hide their status, they do not take medications etc.Hopefully this movie will enlighten some parts of this Syndrome and people will learn a lot from this.
Weldone Shilpa, Salman, ABhishek and BOLLUWOOD!!!!!!

Cynical comparison
by Rajesh on Aug 27, 2004 09:37 PM

I thnk it's cynical to compare Phir Milenge with Philadelphia, just because of slightly similar storyline, and also compare Abhishek wirh Denzel.
I think our journos have a bad habit of always telling people how we fall flat as compared to Hollywood as soon as they sniff any minor similarity between the films.

Superb film!

Well handled, and sensitively done. It was a very good film, yet different but i enjoyed it. Congrats to the team of Phir Milenge, esp. Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Revanthy.

Good to know that a film has been made sensitively in our society. So are the times a-changing? Is it time again to call movies "media" that an actually inspire and change lives in society.
