Good movie
by Quaiyum Khan on Sep 08, 2004 11:24 AM

First of all I would like to tell Shilpa Bharatan Iyer that Shilpa Shetty was not an AIDS patient in that movie. She was a HIV+ ptient. How can you forget that it was mentioned in the movie several times.
Any way it was a good movie with very sensitive topic.Youngsters should watch this movie.
Regarding acting Shilpa Shetty was superb. Abhishek was also good but he should try hard.

ABHISHEK IS THE MAN
by rampal146 on Sep 03, 2004 01:53 PM

despite working with weak directors in his first movies, hes shown immense talent. especially as LALLAN singh in yuva. now in dhoom, he did a superb job, better than all other actors.
phir milenge is more sensitive type of a film in which h e delivers a heart warming performance. PLEASE PPL GIVE THE GUY A BREAK
AND STOP COMPARING TO HIS FATHER WHO IS A LEGEND. after watching such movies, one can truly say that abhishek has alot of potential and is definitely the finest actor in bollywood and that for once, bollywood needs to cut the chase with lover type pretty boy actors and appreciate some tru talent as it lies in abhishek bachchan, nana patekar, ajay devgan etc.

Well done Revathi for choosing such a subject for her new film. But the one who wrote the review doesnt knw anything abt the disease..if she doesnt knw then it was better for her to keep mum instead of writing som stupid comments.Who told her that all aids patients are ill, lean.Being a doctor by profession I shud correct it.Only in the very late stages of the disease people lose weight & all. There hav been instances wen people, who r very much healthy die in the early stages.
I think personally more directors shud com 4ward with such sensitive subjects, instead of maki triangles, quadrangles, bhoot, preth aur pishach. But i didnt mean that there shud b a trend of directing aids films:-)thats wat usually happens in bollywood.
The story is good, all the actors hav done well.Hats off to salman for accepting such a role, which was turned down by many & doin it 4 free. Its high time that he concentrate on accepting characters which will exploit his acting potential. He has already shown it by maki radhey of tere naam excellent.Shilpa too has done a good job, instead of her routine item numbers.Hop this film changes her image. The songs are too good:both the music & lyrics.

I am surprised to see that a doctor's english can be so poor and full of grammatical mistakes.

A must-see film!
by NeelSharman on Sep 01, 2004 09:55 PM

I just loved Phir Milenge! A very good Hindi film in a long time, with a realistic storyline, neat, short, "real" dialogues (not the pretentious filmy dialogues that are part of most Bollywood potboilers today) mostly believable characters. I loved its subtle nuances, and non-preachy style, whilst providing useful information to the masses. The music was well woven into the narrative and Shilpa's performance was an eye-opener! Abhishek did a great job too! There were so many poignant moments written and executed well by the director Ms Revathy!

Only sore point: Salman Khan though emoted well, hasn't bothered to look his character towards the end. Has he seen pictures of patients dying of AIDS? Just like he did in the 2nd half of Tere Naam, where he was his usual Hatta Katta self, without any change in physique! If you compare it to Tere Naam's Tamil original Sethu, the National award winning actor Vikram had transformed himself physically!

Revathy's sincere effort must be welcomed by one and all and I hope this movie becomes a hit and reaches out to the Indian public (including the NRI junta in the US and the UK, whose awareness level of this dreaded disease is also poor.

i saw the film yesterday and i think directors and producer should learn from the movies instead of showing skin shows they should make some sensible movies. hatts of for revathy and entire team film was aosum and abhishek was brilliant. this proves about mentality of indian people how intelligent they are they will not watch movies like this but go for faltu bollywood movies.

Great movie
by Nithya on Sep 01, 2004 12:06 PM

I really wanted to see this movie because I loved Mitr-my friend and I've seen most of Revathy's tamil movies, she's a great actress! Phir Milenge was awesome. I never expected Shilpa Shetty to act so well. She was extremely natural, my heart went out to her in certain scenes especially the scenes with her boss. I'm glad we've discovered that Shilpa can act much better than her contemporaries (ie. Aishwarya) Abhishek was great! Reviewer why did you trash Abhishek? Did you even watch the movie..I really liked him. He was extremely charming and playing a role which is very similar to Denzel Washington's is a major challenge and he lived up to it! Salman was okay i guess. Overall a great movie! I learnt a lot.
