Unworthy Comparison
by Manasi on Sep 01, 2004 12:05 PM

Think whoever has done the review saw the film only to compare it unfairly with the English movie mentioned.
I think the film is brilliant. Dialogue delivery is uncalled for - everyone speaks through the eyes. Revathy has handled the sensitive subject so subtly without raising a finger at any one. The movies is so humane ... it touches your heart.
Hats off to Revathy for a brilliant presentation.

by bhuwan on Aug 31, 2004 03:42 PM

IT is very sad you r calling a brilliantly made film and sensitively handled subject like phir milenge a flop.why have u not called waste like FIDA a flop?i totally disagree with you great films like phir milenge should not be given judgement of flop.its a shame.people are raving about the movie and performances.it is an effort which is praiseworthy.please wait for atleast a week before giving judgement of hit and flop.whatever u say a movie like PHIR MILENGE will be a winner and there are no doubts about it.congrats to entire team of movie for such an inspiring movie which is definitely going to be a hit.GREAT WORK KEEP IT UP.SHILPA and ABHISHEK HAVE really came up with superbly great box office performances.please dont hurt publics emotion by calling a hit movie a flop.

Pirate review
by bp on Aug 31, 2004 03:16 PM

I think that the reviewer saw this movie in a Pirate CD or perhaps she did not see this movie itself. The review is like a concoction under presumptions

that this would be a copy of philadelphia
that Jr AB is shit
that Revathy is an NGO
that Salman is stupid etc...

Bey watch the film b4 REVIEWING

rediff would do good to change the reviewer.

Nitin Mathur
Abhishek Bachchan
by Nitin Mathur on Aug 31, 2004 08:27 AM

The reviewers remark about Abhishek Bachchan's performance is uncalled for. Though I am not a jr bachchan fan but he has churned up an amazing performance and overshadowed both Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty. Had he aped Denzil Washington, he would have been crucified. Now that he has shown his talent, GIVE THE GUY A BREAK!!!!. And learn to praise someone whose name is not SHAHRUKH KHAN.

i thnk this movie needs to b supported 4 the cause it so sensitively espouses and because movies are the medium for educating the masses. Kudos to Revathy for realising and utilizing it.

Althaf AR
Rediff has done it again !!!
by Althaf AR on Aug 30, 2004 06:21 PM

Really it is pity that rediff has appointed some goofs who do not know how to review movies, i sincerly doubt that they see movies before they write. Agreed that Abhishek has somewhat similar role to that of Denzel's in Philadelphia but that doesn't mean that Abhishek's performance has been a downer. He's getting better day by day the only problem I found is some continuity jerks in his appearance, for which director is at fault. He has infused life into Tarun Anand. Shilpa is also competant as Tamanna. Salman comes as a sore thump (not because of his performance but because of his physical appearance, he is too fit to be an aids patient).
Full credit should go to Revathy for making a sensitive movie on an equally sensitive subject. She has casted some known actors atleast to bring in an audience to watch the movie and be aware of Aids/HIV+... Kudos to her for her effort.

Very Good Movie and great performnces from all of the cast

But a sad part of this when i was watching this movie and salman is about to breath his last we had comments like Moo Bandh Kar been hurled

Comments like kuchh scnes ho dekhne ko mil gaye hote to Paisa vasool ho jaate the when shilpa and salman wake up in bed

Comments coming from educated and articulate people who drive to the theatre in cars Levis and Pepe Jeans wearing working class people who shell out more than 100 bucks for a movie ticket but have a mentality not more than a paise)

If defeats the purpose of making a good and realistic film since people want and expect enetertainment skin show

And please stop comparing every movie as well as performances with a hollywood Movie

when end of the day even you know things are so different when you talk about HIV and Aids the viewpoint in India is a complete tangent to what it is in India

the person who has reviewed this movie has created somany blunders!!!!!!
by arvind caulagi on Aug 30, 2004 10:52 AM

first things first,i think the critic/reviewer was sleeping while she was watching the movie.for heaven sake !!!shilpa shetty comes to know that she is HIV+ and she does not have AIDS!!!!it only shows that how ignorant this person is!!!even in the movie this point is stressed so much that by the end of the movie a person should know that there is difference between being HIV+and having
AIDS!!! AIDS is only when this whole virus spreads throught the body!!!and even the performances are good!i feel that shilpa, abhishek, and salman all have given thier best performances!!and u r comparing abhishek to denzel!???give people a break, thats really stupid!!! this is bollywood, and its only now that issues like this are getting thier place in the society!!please when u make comparisons let them atleast be like "ok this can be believed!!!" and rediff please try getting some sensible critics or whatever to review movies!!!please!!!
