most ridiculous.
by suresh on Aug 17, 2004 01:30 PM

"But it is impossible to believe he was better than Hrithik in KoiMil Gaya"........this statement is nothing but arrogance by the writer....he simply doesnt beleive that people can act better than Hrithik

what do you mean once in a blue moon.......rediff should not allow such writes like "Subhash K Jha "

these guys are actually discouraging such talented actors as Vikram.

I recommend him to watch "sedhu"...in which vikram was denied a national award...somebody then did not cry out like how they are crying for Hrithik.

this is biased ... rediff will loose credibility if they continue with such writers

?????????

Comparing Pinjar to KMG? KMG was a good film, no doubt..FOR KIDS!!! What happened in KMG, can that happen?Have any 1 here seen Aliens ever left on earth & then u carrying them around. One person who cant even speak properly, one day by giving power by that JADOO, starts speaking english, fighting & dancing. What a bull crap!!! It was fake, what are we teaching our kids. In comparison,Pinjar might not be a very entertaining topic, but it was a senitive topic and based on reality. It all happened during those days (1947).But only those know whose families have suffered, who had to leave one home to migrate to another home,to another country.I dont say that Hrithik was bad in acting, absolutely he did a good job in a kid's role, but Pinjar was a mature role,it needed guts to be performed. In an interview Manoj Bajpai mentioned that while shooting 4 some scenes,he realized that how hard was the migration & how families had suffered in 1947 and it would bring tears to his eyes & i guess it left the same impression on understanding audience. What part of KMG made anyone feel that there was a true hardhsip in life or what possible sorrows life could give us if we were to go thru that situation.

About Hrithik not bagging an award for ''Koi..Mil Gaya''
by dinakar on Aug 17, 2004 01:25 PM

Hi,

This is with reference to ---
Says a major filmmaker. "I haven't seen the Tamil film for which Vikram has won the Best Actor award [Pithamagan]. But it is impossible to believe he was better than Hrithik in KoiMil Gaya. A performance like that comes once in a blue moon. Why didn't they give the special jury award to Hrithik instead of Manoj Bajpai for Pinjar?"
------------------------------------------------------
I pity the filmmaker for the comments above. The person hadn't see PITHAMAGAN, for which vikram bagged the best actor award and he's commenting. Had he seen the film, he would have got a fitting reply. What an awesome performance by Vikram!! U just love that character of a cremator. To point out, he has not even 1 dialogue in that film.

Don't understate anyone and stop bagging ones only who u know.

I was harsh enough to put the above comments. Do see the film(pithamagan) and respond [Anyone]

Vikram Vs Hrtihik
by murali on Aug 17, 2004 01:07 PM

Pl look at the both sides of a coin beforepassing on your verdict.Had you seen Pithamagan ,you shall definitely be amazed by the punching performance of this amazing actor.Hrithik is nowhere comparable with Vikram for his performance in KMG.

Unfair National Awards
by kartik on Aug 17, 2004 12:56 PM

the national awards as always have been more controversial with every year. This time i perfectly agree that Hrithik shldve got the award with Vikram. I mean both were equally adept in their performances. They did the best actress award to two ladies (Shona Narayan - Mitr & Tabu Chandni Bar).

Whats more im dissappoitned with only one award being given to Maqbool.Arguably its the best hindi film in terms of script screenplay direction..dialogues. perhaps the film did more than enough justice to Shakespeare's classic Macbeth. Thank God Pankaj Kapur won the award for best supporting actor. What abt Tabu ...she played the manipulative Bitch to perfection..Irfan Khan ..Naseer,Om puri....everyone did a commendable job. and the film gets just one award.....Unfair National Awards

vikram deserved it.
by Arindam Banerjee on Aug 17, 2004 12:19 PM

South star Vikram deserved to win the National Award for Best Actor this year. I'm from bengal and was lucky enough to see some clippings of PITHAMAGAN in a south indian channel. (Not seen VIRUMANDI, so can't comment). Vikram was way ahead of Hrithik Roshan who did quite well in the first half of KOI MIL GAYA, but hammed miserably in the second half when he tried to live up to his starry image. From bollywood, only two actors should have come near the award this year - AJAY DEVGAN (GANGAJAL) or IRRFAN KHAN (MAQBOOL). However Rituparno Ghosh was right when he said that MAQBOOL desrved more awards at this level.

too stupid of a comment
by aashiq on Aug 17, 2004 12:17 PM

hai rediff people,

yes, too stupid of a comment. i even wonder why these comments are rising out and that too from the filmmaker(major ?????)who has not seen the film pithamagan. pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee dont insult a actor like vikram by these comments. He is truly fantastic in that role of an undertaker. Do you imagine a actor doesn't spoke a line in the entire film and getting award. only few peoople can do those kind of roles. So he deserved for that award. Hence, again pleaseeeeeeee don't insult a gifted actor because words are sharper than a sword. Don't you know that?

aashiq ahamed.

Who the hell is that saying vikram didn't deserve it?
by deepak a s on Aug 17, 2004 12:12 PM

well, hrithik is a good actor but the performance of vikram in pitaa.. is out of reach for any bollywood actor. bollywood so called stars can only dream of such role. well hrithik's acting will not be a great deal for vikram , can hrithik even think of doing the role of vikram. well, see pitaa.. first then say about acting. hats off vikram.
