Hi all,
I agree that few of the viewers are disappointed with the movie..yeah i was also disappointed cause i thought it would instill some patriotism in the young indian minds by depicting our brave jawans like in Border.even today when I watch border my blood boils...the songs in border were truly inspiring.. but let us not show our disaapointment cause atleast J.P Dutta has attempted to immortalise these jawans before the india youth forget what they have done for us..i guess by trying to portray the female firebrands he devaited from his objective as it got too commercial here..i wish he could have told the audience the temperature at which they fought and most importantly since they weren,t prepared for this sudden war..they weren,t even prepared with comfortable shoes or gloves and many lost their fingers and toes to frostbite...i guess these minor but highly deserving points were missing inspite of him having taken notes in 20 notebooks...

by Rajan on Dec 29, 2003 12:48 PM

Hi,

I occasionally watch films...but when this film(LOC)was being made, I thought that i will watch this film. So when the film released i watched the First day First show. The reasons behind my seeing of the film was pretty simple I wanted to see that how our brave soilders defeated the intruders.

Loc Kargil

I havent seen the movie but have read a lot of reviews and that makes me want to see the movie. Dutta and his cast is being congratulated and is being talked about so much, isnt it amazing that not many people posted so many messages when Kargil war actually happened? Not many congratulated the REAL HEROES...
Don't get me wrong, but i just dont understand the mentality of people, they have the time to talk about movies but not about the real situations? I am glad such movies bring the reality to people !!

LOC is NOT a good movie
by vipul on Dec 28, 2003 11:49 PM  | Hide replies

What is wrong with every reviewer? Why does not even
one of them have the guts to stand up and say the
actual truth? LOC is a below average movie and with
all the hype surrounding it, a complete
disappointment. The brave soldiers who laid their
lives for the country and for whom this movie was
supposed to be a tribute are reduced to absolute
caricatures by J. P. Dutta with sufficient help from
his overbloated, incompetent cast. Including inept
actors like Karan Nath, Himanshu Malik, Puru Raj Kumar
(letting him depict a soldier after what he did in
1993 is a sin on Mr. Dutta's part), Amar Upadhyay,
Bikram Saluja etc. is certainly not my idea of trying
to make a great movie. There is not a single moment in
this movie which makes you feel really proud of our
soldiers. All Mr. Dutta really achieves is giving
every member of his humongous cast some footage and in
the process completely destroys the excellent subject
matter he had at his disposal.

LOC is four hours of excessive boredom, a
shoddy piece of cinema, an insipid, sluggish and very
very mediocre movie that instead of being a tribute to
our soldiers, ends up as a grave injustice to them.

I feel that depicting a real war in a movies is differant from making a stearotype love story. I congratulate JP Dutta for his efforts in bringing the heros of war to lime lite. I remenber the day of sacrifice of Vikrm Batra and his intervies conducted by Barkha Dutt in actual war conditions in 1999. The Scenes in the movies are near to actual war condition. No body can actully picturise a movie when the war is on. What dutta has done we should look at the brighter part of that.

If you have such problems in viewing the film, then it would have been better that u would have directed the film instead and if not directed then worked.u don't think of the effort made by J.P. Dutta. Its just like making one feel that his efforts are useless and a waste of time.

I think "Something is better than nothing". I appologize to vipul first) on part of the brave soldiers who fought this war and second) Mr. J.P. Dutta and his team who tried to make a movie on this
theme.
In addition I am also sorry for the fact why you were not given a chance to make a movie.
You should not watch the movie with only actors/acting perspective. May be then you will be able to appreciate the movie. My brother is also in the armed forces..and the details that the movie shows is worth appreciating.
