Nirav and Narendra Modis
by Ravindran Major on Mar 06, 2018 10:14 AM

As the man in the hot seat Narendra Modi will definitely have to take a call on this scam. But a few things that were known even before this cam blew up included the one regarding Raghuram Rajan being a man Friday of the then FM PC! And let us not forget that the man did not fail to throw muck on NaMo before leaving on not being granted an extension by the latter! Shouldn't that itself help us in homing on to certain home truths? Yes, NaMo is on target but yet to hit the bull!

Shobha - you cannot dust the past under the carpet. The past which means the congress opened the doors of the treasury of a nationalised bank to dishonest business men. ITs because of Modi that the crime surfaced.

Do we hold the PM responsible for PNB scam?
by Magadi Raghunath on Mar 04, 2018 07:25 PM

IF the amount involved was less than a 1000 crores, Probably not. The PM has too much on his plate for micromanagement.
If the PM had not declared himself " Na khaonga, Na Khanedoonga" , Probably not.
If the PM had not given us such hope that at last change is around the corner, Probably not.
But, the scam involves >10 times 1000 crores, the PM has declared himself against corruption in no uncertain terms, His image is that of a no-nonsense go-getter, and now this scam promises to be tip of the iceberg.
I am afraid, he cannot be exonerated.
But, even the best of us can be hoodwinked some of the times. So, the question is; what steps does he and the Government take to surgically remove this festering rot and how will repetitions be forestalled?

PNB scam
by shashikant shevade on Mar 04, 2018 06:15 PM  | Hide replies

It is wrong to bring in the PM.It is very well known that the NPAs of banks have been increasing from 2.5 % to 10.5 %. This is ignored over a period of over 20-25 years. No one ever suspected that the common man is made to pay for allthese scams. The first and foremost person tobe investigated isthe one who sanctioned the loans. Wedo observe the bank employees building houses, buying big cars, investing (or getting as bribe) flats in many
societies etc. How no cases have been found? The same persons are getting double PF and pension. Why give them all such benifits? They must be answerable even after retirement. Involve RBI, Board of directors or anybody but the onslaught on the common man.The rate of interest increase, the change in other charges by banks are forcovering up the scams.

It might sound unfair but the business folks will commit fraud given half a chance ! Gujaratis hide behind Gandhi's veil and the various business groups have their own mukhotas ! All of them uniformly call out the government employees for what they are - Stupid fellows who will do anything from crumbs, can't make out anything.

If Manmohan Singh was complicit so is Narendra Modi as the mukhiya. Period. Will he lose power? NO.

People have learnt to look after themselves despite the government

Well planned by BJP Government to convince and mould the common poor people to open a Bank Account and deposit whatever their available Cash amount with them so that one of their identified Representative can loot it at a stroke and fled the country and afterwards can be distributed the shares among themselves.

The BJP
by piri on Mar 03, 2018 02:03 PM

has long bested the Congress at black money funded election campaigns and black money funded purchase of political support from regional parties !

The Congress, which used to be the unquestioned king of black money fuelled political machinations, can only gape now in helplessness at the sheer nonchalance with which the BJP is presiding over the looting of lakhs of crores of rupees of public wealth using its croxny capitalist friends !

And the Congress sure would never have imagined that it would be so easy to fool most Indian voters (especially north Indian ones) by relentlessly raising a din about fighting corruption and anti corruption posturing even while plundering the exchequer in unprecedented ways like Narendra Modi has been doing !
