One thought that Indian Railways was to transport common man at reasonable cost, fast pace and with essential services. What do we have today, increasing prices of tickets, absence of facilities. Forget clean blankets, bed sheets or pillow covers, they are all folding on floors next to the toilets even the food served is insufficient, poor quality and at exorbitant cost. By privatizing food items numerous players come into coaches all claiming to be authorized. Is there any check? NO SIR. You can't catch them. I only pray we don't see a major food poisoning in the near future. Railway officials may kindly be made to compulsory travel unreserved and in 2nd class coaches as a common man on long distance trains like chattisgarh exp, kalka mail, GT etc.

Yes Sir. You said it. But I already said it. Do you think Railway Officials or Railway Minister OR someone else in the Ministry, read such comments? If they do, they will die of shock or shame.
Third AC charges were below the standard volvo charges, and during weekends and festivals private operators double the price or even more.
But now 3rd AC charges are more than standard volvo charges, and dynamic fares are not helping railways as well. People would prefer buses because of the convenience in boarding the bus that could be nearer than railway stations
In Privation only exploitation of employee, exploitation of passenger by extra fare only promoter & minister get benefit in privatization. People in India will never allow railway for privatization. How much minister railway & BJP will get bribe to do privatization . This anti people thinking cannot be never allowed in India. Minister are not owner of the country will take any decision.

Mr sanjay itz really disheartening to know that the railways had been a cancer in the form of corruption at all level of the staff channels of railways. Letz talk with ticket booking the ticket issuer for every one ticket booked he books the alternate ticket for agent. Secondly the public is ready to pay for the increased price but alas there is no seats available. For example the railways why it cannot convert the waiting list into confirmed seats by allotement of extra coaches wherein the waiting list that is without offer of the seat would be the waiting list of the last day. If engines cannot carry the coach then the engines may be upgraded. Don\'t be on the 1924 legacy. With computation at its helm how can summers be so dreaded journey in railways where the past years un confirmed tickets need to be ascertained and alternate arrangement in the form of upgraded engines and extra coaches and if need be a well disemminated advertised extra train may please be announced in advance. For these waitlisted passengers are the passengers who are the withered passengers of railways. Next is the Ticket checker who allows ticket less travels with money in his pockets. These aspects are completely missing in a volvo or a airlines since they are private and less corrupted. Itz not emotion that will sustain the railways but it is because over the ages railways growth did not commensurate with the peoples expectation. Perform or perish this is the buzz word of the day.

Barring running and maintenance of railway, all other facilities must be privatised. Cost of common worker/office staff in govt. sector is 4-5 times comparing to private sector due to Maharaja like leaves, perqs. OT, bonus and unlimited medical etc., Therefore whenever question of privatisation is raised, unions and such employees start raising their Head against it, look it even in Banks, Air India and other agencies.
It is HIGH TIME Government does a thorough clean up of obsolete systems that hampers the growth of one of the oldest mode of transportation. The lethargic and unscrupulous employees spoil the reputation of Indian Railways. Request the honourable minister to bring in lock stock and barrel changes and make it known to the common man and international community.
