Mr Ashraf... you forgot about debit cards
by Jawahar Trivedi on Nov 17, 2016 05:15 PM

What about the debit cards ?? Most of the shops in the malls accept them, even theatres do. As for queues at theatres, you can make an online booking using net banking / debit card.
Yes, I agree with you about the queues in the banks for hard cash

Possible reason for Cash crunch
by Kiran Sutar on Nov 17, 2016 04:37 PM  | Hide replies

I am NOT a Modi bhakt, or BJP Bhakt, or RSS Bhakt.

But I agree with the decision taken by the PM about Rs. 500 and Rs.1000, and I support it.

But I think the following might be the reason for cash crunch:

Since independence, our systems is very much dependent on cash flow.

Let us assume that the following quantity of notes are in circulation in the country:

Rs.100 = x quantity,
Rs.500 = y quantity,
Rs.1000= z quantity.

PM stopped Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.
So the country should have the Rs.100 Notes in circulation of the quantity =

x (y x 5) (z x 100)

I think the total number of Rs.100 notes that are in circulation is NOT in that quantity.
Till this quantity of Rs.100 notes comes into circulation, we WILL have to face the CASH CRUNCH.

I may be wrong, I am NOT an expert on this matter.

Correction to the formula:
Please read it as:
x (y x 5) (z x 10)

Rediff it NOT accepting the " " (plus) sign:

x (plus) (y x 5) (plus) (z x 10)

Exaggerating small things by Author
by Kiran Sutar on Nov 17, 2016 04:15 PM  | Hide replies

This is a total exaggeration by the Author.

The Government never told anybody to stop spending. The government has said to control the payments by cash, You can make online payments, you can use credit cards, debit cards, cheque payments. But,NO!!! this author wants to spend by paying CASH ONLY, hence he is nostalgic about the pre-1991 era.

Who are you fooling Mr. Author?

Right from the day, the government has started this demonetisation, This author is spreading the negativity about it.

I don't understand, why does this author NOT use common sense?
Or is he involved into paid journalism?

Strange !!!

Just 2 days ago, our entire family went for the movie "Ventilator", by booking tickets online "with Food and snacks Inclusive". We traveled by Auto(paid cash), had a dinner in hotel (by debit card).
How can this Author NOT do this, or even he could NOT think of doing this?
We tipped the waiter by cash.
Most Hotels have system of payment by cards, so how can the author NOT have paid by card?
Book shops, cloth stores, malls, etc...ALL of them have system of payment by card !!!

I don't know, which place, this author is talking about? Mumbai or a remote location in the jungle!!!

Rediff ban this jouranlist/author
by Sammarth Loya on Nov 17, 2016 04:13 PM  | Hide replies

I am appalled at reading this authors writeups on a continuous basis. If authors like these continue to post on rediff , i am afraid many of us will refrain from visiting this website.

The author is putting mindless efforts in providing misguided perceptions. Either he is a core leftist with a sick ideology or funded by organizations who like to create panic in our country. Either ways credibility of rediff is at stake.

useless complaint
by vivek bansal on Nov 17, 2016 04:04 PM

We all must see the subsquent benefits of demonetisation and should not get upset for
few hours time,required for note exchange or
lesser time ( hardly 45-50 minutes) for a/c
operation.

Single state opposition parties are instigating
people for no better reason.
