It is high time we do away with all sorts of reservations but for Economically Backward persons. Even if any reservation is considered in Private Sector, it must be for Economically Backward group only and no one else. The other reservation system prevailing in government jobs, educational institutions, etc., has already crippled the entire system and people have started claiming it as their rights under the constitution of India. It amounts to some sorts of imbalance and discrimination against among citizens, who are ought to be equal. So, we must gradually phase out this system in the first instance. Only then we can mould quality human resource, etc. Failure of many government enterprises might have been result of lack of adequate quality human resource. So, the aim of all citizens must be moulding quality human resource and that should be done from grass root level. Reservation is a major hindrance to that. In order to eradicate other sorts of social inequality, relevant law must be enacted and implemented. Reservation should not be considered to eradicate social inequality. I do not think even in countries like US, they had not resorted to reservation despite the fact that racial abuse existed there long back. They approached the issue from a different perspective and it produced better results and they are reaping the fruits of that approach now. So, its time to wake up for all of us.
