GST: What will be costlier, cheaper?
by GSARORA on Aug 05, 2016 11:38 AM

Service tax from 15 to 18% like substantially increase on Banking, Insurance, Eatables, Mobile calls, travelling, textile, hair cut, repairs of your two wheeler, cars what is left for common man. BJP manifesto as propagated in Elections is merely mockery. Will Arun Jaitly who comes under affluent class does not realize the practical problems of common man -- relook all such aspects before implementation of GST == GS ARORA==

Effect of GST
by Manohar Rao on Aug 05, 2016 09:25 AM

In short Manufactured goods will cost less and services will cost more. The Govt. is very cunning, what is share of manufacturing vis-a-vis services? The services share is more and Govt wants to tap this sector, very cunning indead. Anyhow, atleast the indirect tax structure is getting simpler.

NO MORE A COUNTRY TO LIVE
by Varun on Aug 05, 2016 07:29 AM  | Hide replies

If the list is to be believed, then I don't think anyone who is earning on an average 15K to 20K a month can live anymore in India

I am neither interested in buying a car nor eat the cement and drink the paint

If the list is to be believed, then I don't think India is anymore a country to live

Spot on with your observations. Everything practically what a common man requires on a frequent basis will cost more. It will pinch everyone including affluent. However affluent you may be, you don't buy a new car every month, nor build houses every year or do painting. Consumer durables are purchased for 5-7yrs at least if not more. Except movie going every other service will become expensive. Really did not expect this from GOI.
