Where is India going?
by lahiri alokesh on May 25, 2015 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

In the past 6 years the UPA government was plagued by series of scams , recession in world market, policy paralysis and so on. During and after the election NDA created a hype that "Ache Din Aa Gayee hai". People have heard about Black money being brought back from foreign lands- but no commitment about time limit.People have heard about Bullet Trains- but what is the time frame? People have heard about Smart city- but again no committment towards time limit. Now people have started doubting whether these are" Mungerilal ke Hasseen Sapne"!!! The economy has remained in the same sordid state (as the figures indicate). There is no clear committment as to when the MAKE IN INDIA will really materialise and jobs will be generated. There have been promises by China, Japan etc about Billions of Dollars but actual investment hve not taken place. But one good thing which has been done is creating a HOPE and ENTHUSIASM which is also vital in the progress of a country. But only HOPE cannot bring about changes.Modi government has to act and act fast.Maybe after the completion of second year, blaming it on UPA will not serve the purpose.

Modiji promised moon to voters knowing very well that these promises cannot be fulfilled, therefore anguish and disallussionment of voters was not totally unexpected.

India A Problem
by PK Sagar on May 25, 2015 10:11 AM  | Hide replies

No matter which government is ruling the combined opposition will always try to pull it down. We as Indians are not proud of our country and have no nationalistic spirit. We have this tendency to oppose for the sake of opposing even if it were at the cost of the country. Now a new dimension has been added to it and that is washing dirty linen abroad. The congress had taught the opposition how to disrupt the parliament, which was followed by BJP verbatim and now congress along with the opposition is repeating it. India can hardly do constructive legislations, so how can we expect big bang reforms. therefore let us learn to live with this mess. India can never make any kind of progress on the economic front given our politicians penchant for fooling the masses by the absurd populist agenda.

NaMo in office -365 days.
by subhash phadkar on May 25, 2015 09:02 AM

I dont agree with MKV in his assessment of NaMO as the PM of India for last one year in office. He has built the bridges to take the economy forward and it will bear fruits in the next couple of years.Even small trees take time to grow,Indian economy will take a little longer. After 5,10,15,20 years under NDA it will be worth comparing the progress made under Congress rule and under BJP/NDA rule.A child in Pre primary also needs time to grasp what is around his new world. In United India its not easy to grasp everything immediately.

Adani, his quid pro quo partner
by For on May 25, 2015 07:30 AM

As long as he is more worried about adani mittal and ambani and the Gujarati brethren we won't see any improvement..
He talks about being non corrupt..but looks like he is planning a great retirement with funds from Adani. adani has grown from a millionaire to billionaire and may be trillionair soon.
The way he has adani on every international tour, looks like he is there to promote Adani and not India..
When he was in Australia, he was embarrassed when a journalist clicked him with adani at a dinner table.. He is just a stuntman trying to fool people.

Similarly what is the land acquisition act? An act to help his friends steal prime real estate from middle class Indians and of course farmers?

I was always a BJP supporter but changed my stance after seeing these corrupt politicians.

One year of despair and added Torture
by Manohar Bhargava on May 25, 2015 06:49 AM  | Hide replies

I am surprised to read this article because this country had changed from bare truth era to utter dishonest statements by the Governments. It is shocking that even the press is singing bhajan of pro Government as it is scared as well as sold its moral of true reporting. My earlier comments were not printed as they spoke of lies and false promises of the Government.
I must say we are now in phase when truth may appear again. It is absolute shame that the present Government has failed at all points but the CHAMCHAS of Government are shouting hoarse of our progress and singing praises of the Government. It is correct that all the political parties are jealousof AAP which got a thumping majority never heard of in the History of Indian Democracy. All the names of stalwarts who were considered as oppostle of Indian freedom stand to shame in front of Kejriwal of Delhi. The present Government to cover its shameful defeat is trying hard to scuttle their schemes. BJP is boasting of removing corruption is fast changing rules and protecting all the corrupt from top to a peon by protecting any direct action by anti corruption department .SHAME.Surprisingly no action can be initiated even after retirement.
It is in BJP government that criminals get bail and walk free as the cream of advocates is available to get them freedom at a price.Case of Kalmadi,Lalu,Jaya are living example of legal protection and failure of Government to change laws. BJP has miserably failed on other counts too .
