Donations and charities in India adopt a different paradigm than what is advertised in the West, where corporates are the most highlighted ones since they are virtually the only donors (in the West.). In India, charity is a time honoured component of individual philosophy of living, as indeed enshrined in the injunction for householders "dharmam chara" . What is lacking in India, however, is the proper channeling of individual charities (and donations) in a manner to highlight the size of beneficiary population and the forms in which charity is effected. Moreover, by channellisung donations to organise large charities on a massive level (such as Indian church is doing), competent and zealous management is unknown in the charity area. Another fact is that the per capita income of "developed" nations is often shown as an index to portray other countries as poor, wretched lands drifting in stench and squalor. Truth may well be contrary -- in the West pockets of poverty add up to may be 2/3 rods of total population, which is due to profiteering at the expense of workers at all levels, in order to placate a relatively small number of shareholders. Wasteful Life styles corrupted by misleading advertising in an ectremely consumerist environment have steadily disrupted the materialistic-spiritual balance that is required for peace and happiness of common people. This has led to steep rise in criminality there in which innocents and honest people are more oft

Quantum of Money
by ruturaj pattanaik on Oct 03, 2014 09:49 AM  | Hide replies

I found a quantum of money donated by rich people gained from selling services and goods. There are many other ways how money again goes into the hands of same those have donated. The economy is such money, luxury and facilities are always far from common people primary producers and base of Indian those eking their livelihoods with all constraints.

Such donors are forgivable for their keenness to see that their money does not go into outside circulation as long as they give the best 'value for money' from the viewpoint of donee s (beneficiaries of donations/charity). In India unethical business is the rule rather than the exception due to which odds are that you get a very raw deal in product supply or services except for the first one or two times when an honorable quality is provided but only to win trust of the party who wants to weed out suppliers unable to provide specified quality with just one or two trials. The unethical businesses start routine cheating after these trial orde execution with the specified standards.
