why successful in JLR but down in desi models? when i bought my frst vehicle,Tata Indigo i was quite happy after few ears i decided to buy Manza from the same dealer in Vadodara Ujarat but failed to get one as i was a cash buyer!!! problem lies in allocating dealership to wrong people and failure to due care in providing service after sales not a concept in india, like no value for money!!!

Why cash? You could have used cheque? Did they reject cheques as well? or your source of earning is doubtful? :-)

Do any of these indigenous car-makers of India also manufacture their own petrol/diesel engines?

reason for negative sales for tata motors
by tanveer muzaffer bombaywala on Oct 01, 2014 05:27 PM

as per our experience tata motors or its dealers are not concern about customers. last months our vehicle had a accident it was smashed from front the jurk was such that rediotor was also damaged we had given it to Pandit motors pune they repaired the vehicle
but dided the not checked the doors which was natural to damage. before they checked the alighnment of the wheels but did not check the rear wheels same is the case in yavatmal.

Missed Timing
by SrinivasaKannan Vijayaraghavan on Oct 01, 2014 05:20 PM

Tata Products are more of a CHAUFFER DRIVER's Car or Suv and it doesnot excite the self driver concept when introduced.
Another factor is INDIANS are a Foreign products Loving people.. We always would like to showcase to our freinds and relatives What we got is a great impoted stuff , big brand etc and NOT really patriotic or Swedish fervour..
TATA are late in launching Cars and they should have started when Ambassadors and FIAT were ruling the roost so that they would have time to kill competitons.. Their timing was completely wronga nd they started at same time of Hyundai and almost a decade after Suzuki.. Indians have Tasted better products and are not willing to compromise their comfort or Status by having indica at same price band , Lesser facility , Lesser performance and more importantly a TOURIST's car... Tata should have worked with Tourist segment with a complete different product appeal and differentiation of VISTA must have come when they launched V2 itself. Even now i find ARIA is a product is no Matach to INNOVA which TATA positions and it is failing, but it can give a great competition to XYLO / TAVERA if they posiiton the pricing to that segment.
While TATA is betting huge on ZEST, ... TATA cannot compete in the minds of Indians against HONDA Amaze or HYUNDAI Xcent or SUZUKI Dzire with similar features and at same price levels.. TATA can succed only by giving same features at Lucrative cost and offers.. Best of Luck TATA

You have analysed the fate of TATA motors very nicely. As a consumer I look for reliability and Quality in a product, unfortunately that has just not been there in their vehicles. I hope their acquiring some global brands will bring about changes required in these two areas.

Shareholders criticising Tata management, for Losses, strategies, vehicle making etc, is nothing but greed, and bullshit. Tata,s management is knowledgeable and experienced enough to do well in the long run, as they always do.

How can you say that? The company fundamentally is owned by the share holders. If the management doesn't perform, the share holders have all the right to vote them out.

When the customer says he has a problem with your product; he HAS a problem. There is no point in trying to convince him otherwise. Similarly when the shareholders criticize the management; there is something wrong woth the management. There is no point trying to convince the stakeholders otherwise!
