Park is always there by the side of a statue. However people only remember Statue of Liberty or Shaolin_Buddha or Jesus_Statue_in_brazil

People remember statue always. Park is another area. Both can be done separately,it is not necessary to scrap one for another.
No statue of freedom fighters who have entered politics post independence should be installed. Instead install statue of Bharat Matha or build an airport or harbour or international theme park in the name of Sir Patel.

dude pride of india is indigenous fighter planes, aircraft carrier, satellite launch, also IT industry etc not statue.
this should not have to be part of union budget as this was a gujrat govt. initiative and the gujrat govt should have arranged funds and managed it. secondly this is simply to appease narendra modi.
Mahatma Gandhi is in our hearts and as indian's we can't able to forget all those sacrifies. This respects must be come from bottom of the hearts rather than spending huge on these kind of statues. Later Mayawati will build Kanshi ram statue, Mulayam, didi, amma (MGR Statue), Sonia (Ragiv Gandhi) will build statues and continue and follow this trend and suite. Plz spend the money wisely.
What a great vision of investing 200 CR in a statue of a person who had always thought of poor. This great visionary now invests in statues rather then on the citizens well being... truly good days are here ! all those who voted for BJP.. cheers... enjoy your good days.
