By investing 200 crores ,the entire area will have a changed landscape.This 200 crores will convert it to a place of global attraction and it will bring tourism revenue of Millions of dollars for next 100 years if the site is properly maintained and promoted. Therefore,statue of unity is going to be a milking_cow like the Tajmahal_or_the Shaolin_Buddha and it is a great investment.Forget Patel,forget Unity,it is sheer Modi business vision !
Further,Mr.Modi is going to have bullet train to Ahmedabad so that global tourists can reach statue of unity fast after landing in Mumbai.Very clever tourism promotion planning !
If we see foreign tourist figures in Asia for last year,China and Hongkong 55 million and 26 million,Thailand 27 Million,Malaysia 26 million where as India only 7 million !
There is huge potential from tourism sector,it generates revenue,it generates employment !
I think Mamta_Bannerjee can build Statue_of_Vision on Swamy_Vivekanand and Jayalalita can build her Amma_statue to be world's tallest.

haha...people coming to india for statue watching! dude,have you been to thailand? the whole area is geared for tourism,including the people.they are doing tourism like western country almost now.they are far far far ahead!

200 crores can be recovered in 8-10 years from tourism revenue. After that even for 20 years it stays,income will be another 100 crores.
I agree,if a Disney Land type park is created,there will be huge income as well.
