Good that govt is stressing on AADHAAR. Please highlight some of the benefits/lacunae or the public response to this individual identity creating processes.
The fingers hardly have and finger prints in them or the cataracts will be detected is it?
There is one center near my home, in Bangalore. Though I would like to get one, I have been seeing 2 KM line in the morning, on a daily basis, over the past couple of months. Why doesn't the government put up more centers and make it easier to get the card? It's a pity that entire family need to stand in queue, with kids crying and elderly people unable to stand in hot sun. Why doesn't the government put up 1 week camps in different schools, colleges, etc, so that kids can get those cards easily? Why doesn't the government setup different centers for senior citizens and parents with infants, etc? Is it so hard to provide this infrastructure for a couple of months in each area. I think the typical tendency seen here is that the authorities take pride in making the life difficult for general public.
On paper the concept is fantastic. The govt. is pushing it in a big way and now including it every where The process is so cumberesome and there is no clarity and guidance. It is written that you can walk away to any enollment center with necessary documents and get yourself enrolled but when you actually go the operator says you can only do at your district. Now a days people are working for their livelihood in different areas other than their birth place. They have a website but they seldom get back to you. I request at least they should have a office or information kiosk at the district to provide information, reply the mail queries, set up a functional toll free number so that we can have more clarity about the card.Govt is spending hugely the taxpayers money and the it is promoted as the next big thing in India so the authorities should work towards efficient dissemination of information to avoid discontent and confusion

Excellent my friend.I like to add one question. The website says it issued aadhaar to less than 30 crores of population. Then why push it now instead of waiting to issue for the whole nation and then make it ongoing process for the next generation? Government is acting in haste which I fear may result in waste.
Can anybody tell that if i have an aadhar card of x address & city and now moved to Y address&city. What to do in that case if have to apply phone or LPG connection in Y city.

Mr. Kalyan first of all I would like to say that Aadhar Card is Identity proof not for address. It has all data about you as a individual.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ADHAR CARD WITHOUT WASTING TWO OR THREE DAYS STANDING IN Q,I HAVE MYSELF WASTED THREE DAYS BUT STILL HAVE NOT GOT MY TIME FOR ENROLLMENT.

I am waiting for my card since 19-18-2011, and the website states there is no record available, and they do not respond to mail sent. The worst part is they say not to enroll twice and the application itself need such declaration.Instead of sorting issues they started linking the card to all and sundry facilities/services. Ridiculous.
