In this way they help economy of Kerala. In Gujarat there is free education for Girls even at the higher education level with free hostel facilities.

How much Mr Sen knows modi what is his contribution to India. Sitting and talking from outside India is always easy this is good this is bad. Let come on ground have visit Gujarat and have word with Mr Modi. Then say and comment on all this. Even Indians are Indians whether they lived in India or outside India. There is no one for poor public in India.

Kerala prospered because of people not the rulers
by Rohit R on Jul 23, 2013 05:57 PM

Kerala may be a better synmbol for social development and average high income. But that is not the point. The point is that none of it is attributed to the rulers. It is mostly the people who are responsible for this. Imagine what would have happened ifModi was the ruler of such a state as Kerala. The best thing about Modi is that he is clean and he make sure that the government is more or less clean. He gives great push to infrastructure and make sure there is no red tape. He talks about progress and is ready to take on risky decisions. That is the kind of governance that we need. Clean leaders who speak and works for good governance

Small correction please. It seems that you have mistyped 2 before 79. The actual seat for BJP is 79 and allies 32, thus the total seats will be 111 for NDA.

Vijay.. if NDA gets around 220-230 then nothing can stop NDA from coming to power... I feel with so many parties around it might be difficult to get 311 seats for NDA...

Development in Kerala
by KRISHNAN on Jul 23, 2013 05:44 PM  | Hide replies

Keralites development is because of the NRIs money nothing else. Kerala is dependend on TamilNadu and Kanataka for everything. People are hygenic and in almost all homes there are toilets. Thanks to the Minority appeasement, there are lot of schools and colleges by Catholic Bishops and Mslms organizations. It is the best consumer state. It is a small state and could do far better. At top lever there is equation between Cogrs and CPM who were rulling these the state alternatively. Mr. Sen should correct some figures of Kerala. During the past 3 months around 40 kids died because of Mal nutrician in Tribal colonies. The situation in very bad in Tribal colonies in Kerala for which Govt is not bothered at all

Let us not be too harsh on Sen. It is likely media is exploiting him too. I mean he has positive and negative opinion of Gujarat but media only chooses to politicise negative image of Gujarat to capitalise vote. He is not local to low level politics of Indian media and so we should not judge him harsh. I quote his words : "I have grown quite used to the fact that no matter what I say in a meeting I can see headlines next day about 'Amartya Sen saying growth is not adequate'.
I would very much want him to visit Gujarat and have dialogue with Narendra Modi. I I am sure we Guajarati’s welcome change but we need to have a dialogue with him .
