Kanpur is one of the worst cities I have ever seen. Huge population, no infrastructure, fully congested, no cleanliness and third grade transport system. Many many small cities are much better than Kanpur.
I am happy to read that the first four cities are from two nabouring sate maharashtra and Gujrat inspire ths two state suffers lot from northy trains........
iam also tempted to jump in and throw some insults at other cities and praise my city.. but the sad fact is that one of the indian cities are livable.. i mean, touch ur heart and saym,,,, r u relaly living or just passing ur days.

dude you kannadigas are very old still..we in chennai have a/c at home, office, car 99% of the middle class has this then what is the problem..whereas in bangalore even a/c's won't work in office, full pollution including noise, dust, low quality of food, even a bikaari in chennai will have a better food than bangalore's rich class, poor quality of doctor who make fun on patient body, all that bangalore has is the weather which is highly polluted now, always in summers most of the apts will be short of water in bangalore, narrow roads, no traffic rules, pot holes on the road, i suffered for 5 years in bangalore then got relieved after coming to chennai here there is only one problem the weather that is tackled well by a/cs. a decade back people used to suffer becoz they can't afford a/c

Dude 20% of chennai lives in slums whereas its 10% in bangalore. With this figure, how can you even say chennai is better place to live in? And chennai is no less in pollution. I mean how can any city in India can be free from pollutuon? And Food is a very relative thing. Obviously everyone eats what they like. So that point is absolute nonsense. Most of the points you made means chennai is a better place for 'YOU' to live.

Bangalore is going to be a huge failure in infrastructural if they don't rectify it now. Even The arterial roads of the city are not wide enough for the amount of traffic running on them. Food is a big disappointing here because you get good food only in costly high-end A/C restaurants & not in small cheap hotels like in Chennai.

Chennai has a better traffic regulation - something similar to USA. The Mount Road (or Anna Salai) acts like a toned down version of Interstate highways found in USA. The Mount Road run all the way through the city (north-south). You can hop on and hop off anywhere.

Re: The original survey by Janagraha...a non profit from Bangalor

it says: "Apart from the ASICS survey, Janaagraha in association with market researcher TNS conducted a Voice Of Indian Citizens Survey in which 4,236 adult citizens from the 11 cities in question were asked to assess the quality of life indicators in their respective cities across seven dimensions: mobility, water supply, sanitation, public amenities, pollution control and greenery, crime and safety and ease of processes in government offices. The survey was conducted in the second and third week of March and the overall mean score for all cities is between 5.4 to 6.1 (out of 10). Interestingly, Kolkata ranks number one when it comes to the city’s mobility system and Mumbai when it comes to availability of clean drinking water. Not surprisingly, Delhi scores poorly when it comes to safety (3.70) while Kanpur scores the lowest (2.14)."
