Opposition to FDI is meaningless
by Sankar Mitra on Oct 03, 2012 11:05 AM  | Hide replies

Divisiveness is ingrained in Indian psyche which did not allow the subcontinent to become a country like China or Persia or Egypt. Aryans came to India in around 1800 BC and yet in 600 BC, North India was divided into 16 nos of small tribal states whose only concern was their own state. Same thing is happening today – states have been replaced by political parties whose only concern is to take care of their vote banks. They are not concerned about India. If we analyze this, we have to conclude that indirectly all political parties are indulging in anti national activities. In such behavior, BJP is no 1 followed by the left.Nuclear deal was initiated by BJP and yet they opposed it since they did not want some other party to walk away with the cake. Similarly FDI in retail was the original concept of BJP. Left parties even supported China during Indo-Chinese war. Can anything be worse than this? Yet opportunism made both Congress and BJP to go to bed with such anti national outfits.

Everyone knows whereever India reached today is because of computer IT.And millions of Jobs created in India becuase of computers and IT and millions of NRIs working outside India and also sending billions of money back.

by azad india on Oct 03, 2012 10:56 AM

rs 26 and rs 32 is no measurement of poverty line.if u can not make a goal better change the goal post, that is the stratigy of this government, when they have not been able to bringdown the poverty rate, they preferred to change the method of calculation.when they are not interested to bring down the inflation to please a few, they changed the method of calcultion of inflation, unfortunately that change also have not worked for this government.they did not want to do anything for coal scam,so they started talking about reforms, which more than 80% of the people oppose.may be only congress and lalu yadav supports, for the best reasons known to them.

Lessons from Mahatma Gandhi
by Ashish Swaroop on Oct 03, 2012 10:51 AM

Yesterday was a National Day , being birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. His observations in context of the poor are well known. One of them is :-
"Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen and ask yourself if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him."
India certainly needs his lessons more than that of a professor of a country where a person who has only one car is called poor.
