I do not believe

I never believe Marwaris like Agarwal, Mittal, Jain, etc. I think they give statements and favor only those things which will help them increase their bank balance.

Bharti is not the best company to comment on this issue. They are not considered as employment generation company & has taken out a lot of its profit to SA company without any advantage to Indian side. They will do the same in retail as well once Walmart arrives with 51% clause

by Romesh on Oct 02, 2012 12:20 PM

FDI is nothing but a new avtar of East India Company, who had looted India for almost 2 centuries, before Indians realised what exactly is happening to our wealth.

Rajan Mittal has advocated for FDI in Retail sector in India. He has already tied up with WALLMART. It appears that FDI investors are coming to India to benefit the people of India. As if FDI retailers are philanthropist. They have no intention to reap profits. Is it believable? Mittal is a Capitalist of India quite naturally he will eulogize Foreign Capitalist like WALL MART because as Capitalist they are hand in glove. Capitalist look after profit and in that context they are ruthless and brute. Indian population is already reeling under the exploitation of Indian Capitalist promoted and supported by Government of India like UPA-2. Exploitation and oppression will be further aggravated by the intrusion of foreign capitalists. So Mr. Mittal please be ashamed of your hoax.

jobs arent the most significant point of impact
by Sudy Rao on Oct 02, 2012 12:05 PM

FDI in retail causes numerous upstream and downstream impacts. Its far more complex than just job creation at the stores. Either none of us have grasped that or are just ignoring it considering that the powers that be, private and public, get lots of paybacks in return. the rot deepens. It is not surprising that the entire FDI debate is on primarily jobs created and lost. I have yet to hear a balanced argument from the decision makers.

Wall Smart ..Article
by Romesh on Oct 02, 2012 12:00 PM

They have to keep releasing these articles as they are the real beneficiaries. Once Wall Mart comes to India, they will monopolise the retail market by throwing all junks (like PPIZZas ) to the elite youg guys and take the cream to their pocket. Few smart sales men will get 0000s of Rs salaries and 000s of ordinary Indians will be jobless. This is what is happening coz of IT employees. They just swipe the cards and buy without even bargaining for the price. This is the main reason why the prices are spiralling every where. Still they don't care as they keep getting salaries which can't be thought of by other industries even with decades of service experience.

Only thing is it has to become world class professionals. all over work retail is king. reason is simple. u have to be good consumer inorder to jobe to be created. and growth. there is no other way. u can keep blaming neta and govt whole day.( we are expert in this, popular time pass, we get pleasure out of making other wrong.) its time to wake up. study what has worked in western country growth and adopt it, make it work its that simple. japan, china did same and see where are they. we are 24*7 busy with sonia or MMS.
