by sharmistha nath on Oct 31, 2011 01:25 PM

Now the Law for education for all is good if implemented. But now a days engineering education for all who has money has spoiled the engineering education. What type of human resource colleges are producing! Colleges are becoming like Tabela if little famous or posh. the academitian should see the institute before giving permission to open new engineering college or new courses

Fixing India's broken education system

How can the eduction system be any better? Hardly 1% (or may be a bit more) of the GDP is spent of education by the Govt. Even this is partly spent honestly and prudently.

For any Country, education, health care and social security (especially at old age) are the most important priorities of the Govt and in all these sectors, the Govt has totally failed.

With all the collections under the Education Cess, the Govt must be having a lot of money that it can spend on Education. Why is it not opening more schools and employing better teachers. If the Govt does its bit, there would be a radical change in the whole system.

you are absolutely right. The government doesnt want the citizens to get educated or have a healthy life. Most the revenues genetated by the budgest is given as offset against the freebies given to industrialists, subsidies to fertilizers, oil etc. Only 3% is allocated to social sector like education, health, justice. The govt always wants the citizen in the dark, so that can loot the treasury along with unscruplous businessmen.

One side the schoold with swimming pools and the other side.....

One side the school with swimming pools and the other side the school without dedicated teachers or black boards. We spend more money for jails, which is the breeding ground of criminals, than for education. How the poor will be empowered. Now business leaders like Sri. Narayan Murthy, Sri. Azim Premji, Sri. Nandan, Sri. Ratan Tatas and Sri. Aditya Birla should come to the main stream to empower those unfortuned people of our society.

Good point

But there are other factors too
----------------
i)Engineers to find the jobs in their chosen field - be it Electrical ,mechanical, civil ,etc
have to find such industries as well

To be frank ,only now Real estate in India is taking shape

Not so long ago ,some Indian studets came to aust to get PILOT training (commercial license as a piolot) ,after paying huge fees in aust ,they dicsovered it is not standrad and good why did this happen ?

while Dinsesh Kakar is cleverally rpresenting Boeing and selling Dreamliners to Air India(Praful Patil minister)

Neither Civil Aviation ministry nor Airlines(jet, sahara ETC) have come together

To acquire land and start AVIATION training academy with all facilities
if they had ,then many aspiring Indian grads (who want to be pilots) would have got trained at that academy and stayed back in india

INFOSYS ,WIPRO etc acquired land and augmented expansion with new office blocks ,they did this with their own initiative

Regarding AVIATION sector ,neither Indian govt or Civil aviation ministry cared for it ?

Likewise we need URBAN planning and newly empowered Muncipal councils and Panchayats etc
?

so where is URBAN institute ,only nANDAN NILKENNI donated 50 crores to kickstart such an institute ?

all minerals have been exploited in India like Jungle raj ?
where is steel plants to create jobs ?
where is rules and regulations ?

Govt of INIDA babus and ministers are thinking political

office and winning in elections means making money through Corruption ?

-----
some in UPA govt think they got license to loot India coffers because they are in power ?
---------
already Premji, ambanis, shiv nadar etc are all contributing greatly to education

sri Shiv nadar - ssn engg college and sri Shiv Nadar Univ
sri Azim premji 2 billion dollars to school funds
etc

Private industry can match contributions

actual policy and implenetation is the responsibility of Indian GOVT towards its people
