I feel the biggest mistake we are doing is that we are trying to adapt the western education system...which like most of the things from the west...do not work in India... What are we trying to show by providing such lenient marking and children getting 95% and still not making to good colleges... I feel that educationists need to rethink... Kapil Sibal is the highest culprit in this...He would ruin our entire education system and make the students become duds...

Your feeling does not matter at all! What the 'WISDOMLESS" nehru gang thought is the FINAL! Damage has been done already! Look at GB, who is adopting snaskrit in schools and the number of schools adopting sanskrit as compulsory language is increasing year to year and simultaneously India is sealing the uses of sanskrit ! Men in command themselves are ROTTEN in thoughts and thats why the quality of products is on the wane! Inferior standard of students need better attention to pull up the standard ! WHO IS DEDICATEDLY GIVING THAT?

Indian education system at primary level is too good although it might be putting more stress on the children but the output of this is that the base of the Indian students are much stronger then any other student; however due to economical situation in the country every student is made to think that he needs to get education to earn money and hence somewhere they are loosing their focus; So if there is at all a change required it should not change the overall education system of India similar to the west but to make reform which change their focus;
We have a huge population and is an ideal market for all kinds of educators/experiments. The rich or hope to be rich go for the stylish/costly types and the poor go to the govt schools. Today a nursery school is promoted like a business school.. With so many experiments something will work and rest will fail..

2x2 is mere information and forms a miniscule part of the education. Education is reflected in Character, Behaviour, Manners, Speech, ....and many more things.
Indians don't know what they really are....they are born with Vedic legacy, taught with British Mindset and are told to forget themselves for cause of international Brotherhood sweetly packaged as SECULARISM which is equal to 'Deiconify' SELF existence.

---- Maybe you want madrasas type schools or perhaps wahabi based schools all over Assam and India I can count a few countries like Syria,Libya,Iran ,Iraq why not migrate to those countries and live there --- Leave India to us and we will sort out ourselves ,we do not need your sermons thanks
Continuing with my earlier comment, I would suggest that government could think of subsidizing and augmenting educational loans to the needy and marginalized sections. Rate of interest on educational loans be pegged with the rating of the institution applied for. This will spur institutions to maintain and improve their standards. A competitive educational market with easy accessibility to educational loans and strong rating agencies will go a long way in improving the quality of education in India. Moreover, the government should promote and facilitate national and international collaborations by setting up favorable policy environment.
