Reversing the process of making plastic...if at all possible at a cost effective way, a good boon for enviornment by reusing all the plastic which is an enviornmental hazzard.

Prof.Alka Zadgaonkar was the first in India to Catalytically convert waste plastic into Petroleum.
Since Plastic is derived from crude Petroleum,it was theoretically possible to convert Waste plastic into Petroleum. But it was achieved by her in 2004.

•The Zadgaonkars are currently running a 5 MT plant at Nagpur and the fuel is used for running captive power generators in industrial units in and around Nagpur.

wonderful invention
by KRISHNAMURTHY V on Nov 16, 2011 07:16 PM

This is indeed a wonderful invention. It is now left to the Indian Government to patent the process and see to it that it is implemented at the earliest at all cities and towns which produce the plastic wastes. Congratualtions to Mr. Garg and team; hope they are suitably rewarded too.
