it is his money

First of all he has done business and earned his house. Even though it was his father's , but he has enlarged it. If he is not helping people it's ok but anyone does not have rights to comment on someone's prosperity. It is his money and his life.he can do whatever with it.

I have this complaint against Ambani's wabbabe 'palace'.

It looks ugly and chintzy, and is an eye-sore on Mumbai. The architect who designed the building for Ambani must surely have harbored a low opinion about Mr. Ambani, probably disliked him, and must have been having a laugh at Mr. Ambani's expense...

Even then this show of opulence and flaunt of wealth is not good for a decent human being. If he is not, then it doesn't matter.
Plus, as you said the building looks like a 27 story jopat patti.

If I have worked hard, made a business and doing nicely, I would like to live nicely as well.

Living nicely is different from living in a billion dollar mansion and that too after not just working hard but by manipulating the system, politicians etc to ones advantage.

Dhirubhai - on the other hand - is a "self" made man. (Self = Kaangress government)... ;-)

Did he (Ratan) not donate hugely to institutes outside India?
by kanchan kewlani on May 24, 2011 07:23 AM  | Hide replies

Did he (Ratan) not donate hugely to institutes outside India? if I am not mistaken, he did make huge donations to a foriegn university, I think it was Oxford University, please corrct me, but instead of telling what others should do, why he had not at that time donated to an Indian educaional institute. If he so much concerned about welfare of underprivileged, then he should have first tried to strenghten the roots of an Indian institute, isn't it?

Kanchan Kewlani:

I presume you never heard of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, or Tata Institute of Social Sciences or Tata Management Training Center or host of other endowments the Tata group has made towards other Indian institutions in addition to actually creating their own Institutes....

Secondly, if you are trying to compare what Tata has given as philonthrophy to foreigners with what Ambani has hoarded for himself, then I must say you are comparing Apples with Oranges, Dates, Bananas and all the rest of the stuff put together...

Ambani's house.
by M Thippeswamy on May 24, 2011 07:16 AM  | Hide replies

Why other people want to poke their nose in to his ass & tell it is smelling. He has earned & he wants to enjoy. There is no vulgarity. Many common people build palatial places. DO you mean all are fools & vulgur. None of the people have got any right to comment on his spending. He has employed 600 people. He is feeding 600 x 5= 3000 people by giving them salary. He pays tax. Let him lead his life.
