The supply-side economics of bribery
by suneera rahman on May 23, 2011 09:21 PM

While politicians, whom every industrialist blame for their corruption, represent the demand-side of bribery, the corporate houses represent the supply side economics of bribery. Yes, we take it light, even the court takes it light. That is why JMM who took money for vote was found guilty but not Congress of Narasimha Rao, who 'bought" the vote, by giving a few crores toJMM wat let off!

Star News - Flop News, AaajTak - Kab Tak etc are busy
by Nitesh on May 23, 2011 04:27 PM  | Hide replies

india media are now busy they wanted some sort of spice's to keep their job going on. well done.

Ambani has done very little to uplift poor people of india. All this company TATA,Birla,Rilance,WIPRO,InfoSys,Adani,Godrej, etc should contribute some percentage of their wealth towards the development of society.
They can wipe off slums from mumbai and build suitable accommodation with basic facility and energy efficient.

Good its neither Govt job nor Private Co's Job. It is our responsibility we should be held responsible. Every one of us in the country need to take up the task of improving the conditions of the people.

What about TATA? Can he compare Himslef with Warren Buffet's living style?

How many Indian business people think of charity?

All are same with single agenda- manipulate and become Rich Richer Richest

have you seen jamshedpur ?

it was built by TATA for benefit
of their employees.

do you know IISC has been started and funded by TATA ?

Do you know the charitable trust they run?

what has Mukesh ambani done ?
made billions , bought his wife boeing , built himself a weird junk of building for $1 billion .

has he done anything for charity ? nothing.
any research funding ? none.

I completely agree with your view point. There is a lot of difference between TATA & Reliance work culture as well.
I feel That Mr Ratan Tata shd not feel apologetic about the comment, rather he shd stand by it. It is for the other corporate giants to do some introspection.

Agreed, it's only the Tata group which has done any serious efforts at CSR. As for the Ambanis, there are nowhere near the Tatas, specially when it comes to ethics.

Very true. Ambani's 1 billion house will be a Khandhar in less than 50 years from now. What Tata has said are correct.
This is absolutely a show-up. For merely 4 1, such a levish structure is shameful.

Does he want rich man to donate their wealth to poor people? People make money to fulfill theirs desires, not to donate to poors.

Poors are poor not because there is shortage of jobs but because they produce in big numbers and want to live that way.

Hey one sec. Dont blame us, billionaires. We do charity. We do a lot. We live with that. we get returns because god is so kindful to help those who help people. We, busy businessmen have no time to distribute our wealth to general public, nor do we have any way of understanding who needs how much. So we give that task to the elected representatives of people, the way people assign the job of law making to some.We have some crude methods of assessing who will win, in a forth coming election.Tuning to that we supply money to election Parties, bviously a little more to those parties who represent more people!

THIS IS JUST WHAT THE MEDIA WANTS
by prajyoth pradeep on May 23, 2011 04:05 PM

Note how the article starts... "A probable war of words between India's two most famous corporate honchos - Tata group chairman Ratan Tata and Reliance industries chairman Mukesh Ambani - might just be on the horizon."
This is what the media wants..the two of them to reply against each other and fill newspaper pages and we like fools read them with open mouths. Note also that the newspaper is London Times which is foreign media which only wants to put India in poor light. Also Ratan Tata would not have talked about this unless it was asked to him by the news paper.
