Rigging Masters failed this time
by sachin upadhaya on May 13, 2011 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

Left front would have gone from west bengal 20/25 years back. They scientifically and adminsitratively captured booths and resorted to rampant rigging of polls time and again. people's verdict were not allowed to happen at all.Votes were cast before hand.
This time they could not do so due to 6 phase election and fool proof monitoring by election commision. No false vote were cast. 3-5 % false vote means coming back to power once again.left Front does not believe in democratic system. they were totally misusing the loop holes of the system and made it farce, thus staying in power endlessly. After first 10 years of left rule, people of west bengal saw their real color- which was collective dictatorship and misuse of administration. But they watched helplessly.

Real thanks should go to election commision for converting Mamta's long dream into reality.

The 65 seats they are getting is also due to rigging and booth capturing only, otherwise all their candidates would have forefeited their deposits. That much anger people of West Bengal have against the Rigging Masters.

let me understand this correctly, on the one hand you are saying that this was a completely free and fair election conducted by the EC with central forces in charge. on the other hand, you are saying that CPM rigged the polls. wow! true to form!

No work in Last 10 Years
by Anjan Kr Das on May 13, 2011 04:29 PM

No remarksble work has been done in past 10 years in industrialisation point of view. When son of a farmer left farming because of very less profit and he searches for a job, there was no job, because of insufficient industries... Jobs for literate and skilled poeple is very very less than any other part of india. The best of bangalies stays outside of bengal

No change !!
by Tera Baap on May 13, 2011 04:22 PM  | Hide replies

Rise of Mamata proves that people of WB remained over the years , as they were - only protesting, not ever being pro active.
Change there may be in the govt, but people have rejected left when they really wanted to do something the way the rest of the country does. Bengalis supported left during Jyoti Basu, when nothing was done for industrialising /modernising, as these challenges them to come out from their comfort zone.
Mamata encashed this & that is the biggest problem for the state.
The moment she starts doing ( if at all she tries) something, she will get the same treatment as the left are facing today.
Remember the disillusionment of Dr Ashim Mitra. Same fate probably lies ahead of FICCI Gen secy.
Unless the attitude of Bengalis change, nothing will change in WB. And where has this mentality come from ? It's not communism or socialism . A large section of urban middle class who think poetry, music, arts, romanticism are all that a person need. Behind this actually is the fearful lazy mind who can not take any responsibility or do anything on his own.
Mamata is the new left now, not a change agent.

There in WB,big difference in public approach towards entrepreneurship. If you compare WB public with that of Delhi, Haryana,Punjab, Himanchal Pradesh,Western UP,Gujarat, Punjab, find lots of difference. That's why they are rich, enjoying their lives, where as our Bengali population is only dipped in music, poetry, dance, romancecreating novels, passing their life,in misery due to short earnings. This was due to CPM,Left combine, who teach them to burn bus, if the fare rises only for 10 paisa. The same attitude in commerce, industry, who ran away from WB to other states as mentioned earlier. The problem is of mentality.Eat less, wear less, less teaching in good schools, but enjoy.
This is to be changed and the example of Bihar is living for them,as Nitish Kumar, broken wall of Lalu's corrupt administration for 16 years.
Good Wishes for our WE public for their enrichment.

Your assesment about Bengali is very baised and untrue. Except corouption, money luandering, and so called rag to riches New India's enterpreneur, Bengalis are in the forefront in evey auspect of life. By the way, why you people are so obsessed with Bengali? After all evrey states of India has some pros and coins. No state is better than other state in all respect.

There is no conflict in well-being and being well off. Poetry music theatre does not cancel prosperity and wealth and vice versa.
one can be wealthy and also literary minded. no issues.

Probably the author does not have a basic knowledge of human attitude & behavior. He has no integrity. Criticizing a community that too with such abusive language is against the constitutional act.The author is probably biased and communal in nature. He has little knowledge about the L/F activities since its inception which paralyzed the state in regards to overall developments.Probably he is of same nature like the corrupted and vindictive comrade(so called)of W/Bengal. His act is a criminal offence.

We disagree. Young Bengal is different from the picture of art loving lazy guys you have portrayed. They know how the world runs. They have ousted left because leftists are the hooligans calling frequent strikes and stalling work even when they were in power.

LF ousted
by pulak taraphdar on May 13, 2011 04:20 PM  | Hide replies

Left came to power due to a strong anti incumbency factor after emergency. We agree that they did operation Barga and empowered Barga farmers (share croppers) who did not own land. Rest is the history of scaring and terrorising poor villagers for several years. Tapasi Malik was from such a family of Barga farmers at Singur. She was killed by CPI(M) hooligans. Recent killings at Netai added more feathers in the caps of CPI(M) brand ambassadors. But people were no longer afraid of left front. Election Commission took lot of pains in proper revision of electoral list this time. High polling this time was not fake voting by left front cadres. We have not heard “Apnar vote hoye gechhe” (“we have already cast your vote”) this time. Thanks to Election Commission.

A Teacher who was BJP suppoter was killed after entering the class room right before his students.

Reddygaru, this is in continuation of previous reply. Even in 2005 the CPM was croaking/barking that Dr. MMS/ Congress is selling India to MNCs. PChidamabaram answered them correctly- we indians are multinational today- today Indians had acquired the biggest companies in UK/ France/ USA! We are multinational. An Indian owns the biggest steel company in the world. The idiotinc CPM never realized this. They made their people to starve. Reddy- today all construction workers in Madras/ Tn are from WB- shame on CPM/ Bengalis/ idiot Prakash!

Reddygaru, the IT industry which brings lacs of crores to India is concentrated in: Mumbai/ Pune/ Chennai/ Hyderabad and Banglore;
Not one IT industry in Calcutta which was the biggest city in India till recently. shame on CPM!
Reddy, when all foreign airlines withdrew operations from Calcutta, the CPM begged Rajivji and he introduced one international flight with IA B737- Calcutta- Bangkok; When Madras/ B'lore are served by KLM/ Sabena/Lufthansa/ BA/ AirFrance- no one is ready to touch Calcutta, --- shame on CPM. CPM desrves to be kicked out.
Reddy one more word; When Communism collapsed in USSR in 1989, a Tamil magazine said: Communists have failed but not communism. TYrue- indian communists of WB/ Kerala are traitors of country as well aam janaha- common man. I respect them fr their impecable hoinesty- hate them for closing all industries.

Reddygaru, THERE IS SAYING: u can fool all people sometimes, some people all times; but NOT ALL PEOPLE ALL TIMES.
True, CPM leaders- EMS, Harkishen, Jyothi Basu, BD bhatta, Nayanar, VS Acchu - are blemishless. Certainly they did not amass one rupee of public miney. Compare this with Jaggu Reddy of Congress - (Cuddappah), son of YSR Reddy. In 2004 he had few lacs property, today he owns thousands of crores! Just as MP!

but Mallus- Malayalee CPM and Bengali CPM leaders were totally unreasonable and indulged in closing all factories/industries in their states. This is not my statement but my Mallu- Kerala friends! The CPm in Kerala closed Punalur Paper factory, Birla's mavoor polyfire factory and all. The idiotic jokers - CPM of WB- caused all giants to shift their offices to Banglore in 1980s. The regd offices of Brookebond/ ITC/ Lipton etc etc all were in Calcutta. U can not shift registered office without the consent of both high courts. So all major giants kept one board: Regd office in Calcutta but created a central office in Banglore. All of a suddent Banglore prospered and bloomed- thanks to the idiotic CPM!
CPM of India should have learnt atleast from China which allowed all american companies to open factories in China after 1980s. China started propspering; and China is over taking USA now; but the idiots like Prakash ( who does not have guts to stand elections in kerala) never learnt!
Even in 2005 the CPM idiots werte croaking: Congress is selling india to MN

LF turned into oppressor
by Manoj Dev on May 13, 2011 04:15 PM

LF lost primarily because over the last 5-6 years the leaders progressively failed to connect with the general people. Nagorik Committes and similar local committees promoted by the LF were innovative means to keep people flocked. But it boomeranged as effectively those subverted local administration and interfered in the lives of people. Nagorik Committes and negatively hyperactive panchayats are the primary reasons for for people's alienation from LF. Add to that the LF penchant for covertly allowing its cadres to earn from realty business which are frequently at the cost of destruction of environment.
The author of this article has been shy to put forward such stark facts.
