Bengalis
by Rythm on May 13, 2011 05:13 PM  | Hide replies

Are the people of Bengal alright? If Buddhadeb wanted to bring in industry, what was wrong? OF course doing dadagiri with farmers was very wrong. But bringing in Industries? LEFT had eroded Bengal for so many years by closing down industries. Then they wanted them back. Now people of Bengal have elected someone who's nothing but a rabble rouser and who drives away industries? For all the thinkers that the land has, they elect the most ludicrous

Is land giving you enough returns ? Already Bengal's per capita is below national average. With Singur what people(including many people in top cos) felt was that 400 acres could have been given back to farmers.. Was this possible? Just look at the amount of blood being shed elsewhere on the planet before commenting on bloodshed. What Bengalis' really want is status quo- sit at home, sip tea and do adda..

Left parties

They call themselves pro labour, but left in India could not provide employment to all in their States, could not equally distribute public money amongst Babus rather adopted central govt. pay scales for all, did nothing to eradicate poverty or control population, besides discouraging industrialisation.

UPA will change the most backward and corrupted state in India. Mamta will remove corruption like Nitish did in Bihar.

From frying pan to fire. Best way to describe Bengal. Nobody knows what Mamata stands for other than her opposition to Left. People desperately wanted change a change and escape from frying pan. And they will be forced to accept whatever comes in form of change, most likely to be fire.

Riggings Masters are finally gone- Thank God
by sachin upadhaya on May 13, 2011 04:52 PM  | Hide replies

Left front would have gone from west bengal 20/25 years back. They scientifically and adminsitratively captured booths and resorted to rampant rigging of polls time and again. people's verdict were not allowed to happen at all.Votes were cast before hand.
This time they could not do so due to 6 phase election and fool proof monitoring by election commision. No false vote were cast. 3-5 % false vote means coming back to power once again.left Front does not believe in democratic system. they were totally misusing the loop holes of the system and made it farce, thus staying in power endlessly. After first 10 years of left rule, people of west bengal saw their real color- which was collective dictatorship and misuse of administration. But they watched helplessly.

Real thanks should go to election commision for converting Mamta's long dream into reality.

left has long forgotten their ideology. The current ideology of average educated bengalis who don't want to work at any cost. Untill enterpeuner culture is not seeded in Bengalis, WB has no chance

Mamta will be utter failure as CM
by Count Meout on May 13, 2011 04:51 PM  | Hide replies

There is no doubt in anybody's mind that Mamta will be a total failure. The CPM Trade Union will ensure none of her policies succeed. They will block every move of hers. In total frustration, she will use force, and the people will pay her back with the same coin. So, it will be back to Square 1. West Bengal is doomed to 'Middle' ages. Even Bihar and Chattisghar will move ahead.

Chhattisgarh is already much ahead in development if comopared 2 West Bengal. Just look at the GDP figures in last 5-6 years. Chhattisgarh is always in Top 3 states. Only Gujarat can be compared with Chhattisgarhs progress rate. But offcourse it has 2 go a long way before it equalises with Gujarat. Bihar too now picking up very well. bengal is reely hopeless as of now

Biplab
Left Front and Mamata
by Biplab on May 13, 2011 04:51 PM  | Hide replies

This is obvious. In democracy we should not keep a govt. for this long time, we have to change. Actually change should have been done 20-25 years back. But lack of strong opposition and due to strong CPM organisation Left is in power for this period. And also people were with them no doubtly. How many times you can win election by rigging. Also you can not rig most of the seats. Change could have been done in 2001, but CPM cleaverly brought Buddha in the scenario and that is why it got delayed 10 years. But whether today or tomorrow change is expected, because this is democracy.
I don't expect too much from Mamata. Her real test will start from today onwards. She has to solve Maoist problem, Gorkhaland problem, law and order situation and definitely she has to do massive industrialisation what Buddhababu started. Buddhababu might be one of the worst administrators, he mismanaged regarding industrialization, but Mamata has to do same industrialisation, there is no other escape route. Ma-Mati-Manuse is good for winning election and it is done, now she has to go same way what is called industrialisation. For that Govt. has to acquire land. Now it is Mamata's call how she will do this job, we are eager to see.
Anyway my best wishes for Mamata, hope she will deliver better thing.

I do agree with you.If she fail to do another poribortan will come.People of Bengal are not fool now! They have seen the worst torture of congress in 1971 and purheps this is the reason why CPM has ruled Bengal for so long. The present generation want Growth and peace both.
