Did you know that 'Amdavad' has 65000 persons engaged in manual scavenging to earn a living ??
The figure is from the World Sanitation Congress report 2009.
Do you know what manual scavenging is ??
So, a city that engages so many manual scavengers (just like innumerable other places in India) is CLEAN, isn't it ???
Kerala is the only honourable exception in India in this regard. Manual scavenging disappeared there in the 1950s !
Clean cities? We are not clean in our mind nor we are clear in our dealings. Actually, Sharad Pawar should be made PM and Sonia as President. Karunanidhi should become finance and see the development of India. All cities will be cleaned. All assets of people will be wiped off.
Mumbai was going to made into Shanghai..it resembles big garbage dump with sewage flowing through roads and slum-dwellers defecating in open..during rainy season, fecal matter is seen everywhere on roads
City will come later but before that Attitude of people of country should change. I was working in PUNE, most of beutiful building inside the corners (Stair case) are full of spit. Its shy to see the boards " Dont Spit here" inside the building. This country never be listed under " World's 10 cleanest cities" No hopes, mentality, culture & economical, living standard of majority indians are below average
