POOR CONDITION OF MAHATMA GANDHI SETU
by Jay on Jun 24, 2011 11:11 AM  | Hide replies

It is unfortunate that the country which has so many beautiful bridges, are not maintained. I personally have crossed over Mahatma Gandhu Setu in Bihar that connects Patna with many other surrounding cities (and the only way to connect) I find teh condition of the bridge to be pathetic...at any moment the bridge may collapse. It is a pride of India as it is the longest bridge in Asia and probably in the World but the way it is maintained it very sad. They collect lacs of Rupees every day through Toll Tax but not sure how much is spent on the repain and maintainence. If any one get a chance to go through the bridge, one would realize the condtion and will feel sad for such a creation. I hope that the Bihar govt. does something about this sooner rather than later.
Thanks.

India is having excellent resources but poor management. Almost 40% of the allocated budgets find their way to the pockets of beauracrats and politicians. Imaging if the entire corruption is wiped out, what kind of infrastructure we could be having!

I used to laugh at a Drama where the hero proposes "All corruption should be legalized", now I feel that suggestion is not stupid at all. 10 Rupees is what it will take for a 6 Rupee job, so be it, Let the public get atleast 6 Rs.

Talking of Names, Rahul Gandhi uses Gandhi Surname as Nehru did not allow a "khan" in Pandit's family. Gandhi has to pacify Nehru by giving his name as surname for erotic Indira.

Now Rahul has the nerve to stick with Gandhi, even after he failed in Hindi. Buddhu baba wants a name of a Barrister.

If at all you are naming a shouchalya, keep the correct name Rahul Khan Vinci and not Rahul Gandhi

Picture shown here is not the Kovvur-Rajahmundry (Road-cum-rail) bridge. There are 3 bridges which connect Kovvur and Rajahmundry. In this picture you can see 2 of them. One which is in the front is 110 years old rail bridge, currently not in use, the second which is behind, is roughly 15 years old also a rail bridge. These 2 are right to the photographer, where as the road-cum-rail bridge is on left side, which is not covered in this photo graph.

Only 99.99% of them have been constructed after independence. .001% of them were constructed by british and most of these are no longer sturdy enough to be used for traffic.

Wake up vijay
