Because Mamata is not a good admistrator. She only know how to fool people of west Bengal.She is cheater she people of bengal by declaring her false american doctorate degree when she won Jadavpur parliamentary election. She never tells truth even to her mother,brother and sisiter so people can expect anything other false promise and cheat from lady like her.She is surrouded by a bunch of cheaters.Say Mukul Roy after getting a portfolio in the Ministry of Shipping he spent a substatial amount of public exchequer for his whimsical transport and others expenses.

Dear Chuni Banik, I dont know ur bengali or not. But I tell you that predecessors of Mamtajee have only poured in their state persons in Railways.So many agitations have happened in Assam and Mumbai because of this.No I am not a supporter of TMC neither I am supporter of CPM.Mamta have nothing to loose. Of course she is little bit busy in home state politics but still better than her predecessors.

Mr Joy Gupta : I am a Bengali from outside of WB & with privy to the happenings in Rly Minstry so saying Mamta Banerjee is a disaster as an adminstrator...Laloo may have been corrupt but was efficient & good adminstrator - so give credit to the devil here it is due & don't pass stupid comments on others without sufficient knowledge !

Mr. Sanjay Bhattacharya, my parents, uncles, aunts all have worked in Railways and I've grown up in a railway colony. I've seen the changes Railways have gone through since the time of Madhu Dandavate. You yourself should think twice before declaring Lalu as efficient and good administrator. Lalu's best ploy was he used to give the Top management of Railways a freedom to work and implement their plans as he was only interested in getting more projects for Bihar and taking the credit for the success which was only an eyewash.
Quality of service in Indian Railways detoriorated in Lalu's regime only and it hasn't improved much in Mamata's time. However, I've travelled by Duranto Exp enjoyed the service. There are lot of initiatives in Railways nowadays targetting to benefit the passengers which was hitherto absent. You should check facts before commenting like Lalu.

It is correct that Lalu was a good administrator and Railways prospered only in Lalu regime. It had been always a loss earning entity except during the regime of Lalu when it prospered and started thinking about the bullet trains and reaching the distance of 100 kms in 3-4 hours as it is in the most advanced countries. Let us wait, Mamta Banerjee will bring the same doomsday as Railways had been doing in the past before Lalu regime.

No Way. We need a proven performer like Nitish Kumar. Maybe Railways can be given to one of the young MPs.
dear rediff writer, please dont blame Mamta for mess in railways. She is so busy fighting in West Bengal that may be she has forgotten Railways. But dont worry, once she becomes CM of Bengal, she will also retain Railways portfolio in Centre. She will work very hard and turn around both Railways and West Bengal. She will be the first Railway Minister whi;le also being a CM. What a magician.

you are living in fools paradise, if Mamta has no time she should not have taken up Railway portfolio, she needs to be sacked by Man Mohan singh Go and stay in Kolkata don't come to Delhi, she is most inefficient and worst Railway minister.

sir it seems you havent travelled in bhartiya rail under mamta didi...food in rajdhanis has gone shitty...trains have forgotten to run on time..rajdhanis and shatabdis too...and its to secret that the lady boss is missing from ministry for months

There are a united confrontation towards her by the crooks ,expert in dirty tricks ! These crooks have an onganised abilitity like 'piranhoes' ! We saw the new 'sabotage' in MTP of Kolkata ! Both entry and exit gates are 'open' meaning ticket checking mechanisms made 'defunct' ! Obvivously the opportunists will avail! We saw the 'ganged' occupatiuons' in tains -planned ! Any unaviled berth being occupied by unauthoriseds by force! A gang oiperation to fefame her! Only CROOKS WITH AN ORGANISED ACTIVITIES can do it! By this CROOK method WB ,has been ruined!
