The credibility of this article is lost as soon as it says that the banks would not let you open an account if your wealth is gotten by illegal means. Everyone knows that the reason Swiss Banks offer extreme privacy is to protect corrupt politicians and mafiosos who would otherwise not find any place to hide their money. Why else would the Wikileaks announcement disturb quite a few wealthy individuals??!!

do u mean to say in indian bank we have to provide all details? and all transaction and savings in banks are from legal ways no black money?
All the money looted by politicians and powerful money people is deposited in Swiss banks which under the garb of privacy holds the money robbed by politicians. In short Swiss banks are agents of robbers. They are unethical, illegal except in their own eyes.

There are two types of banking; one is for the lay person on the street and another for HNI (High Networth Individuals). The first is transparent, legitimate and subject to laws. The other isn't, for obvious reasons.
Most of these illegal funds originate from third world countries; this is not only lucrative for them, but also, this information can be used to blackmail account holders into obliging western interests.
Swiss Banks have never revealed what has happened to the millions deposited by Jewish clients who died in the holocaust or the monies stashed away by the Nazis during the Second World War.
To claim that Swiss bankers are superior to bankers of other countries again is utter nonsense. The Swiss economy is not large enough to give huge returns to bank investments, when you consider the GDP of Switzerland and the quantum of the deposits lying in their banks. What makes them special is their banking ethics.

THERE MUST BE SOME SUPERB MANAGEMENT SCHOOLS IN EUROPE THAT CAN MAKE BRILLIANT BANKERS NOT SEE THAT THE MONEY IS WHITE OR NOT.

I forgot to mention that HNI banking is known as private banking, which required a minimum of 1 million Swiss Francs though a few private bankers accept lesser amounts. Also, Swiss laws differentiate between Tax evasion and Tax fraud. All the norms and procedures apply to American clients, not to clients from the third world.

It is a fact that the economy of Switzerland survive with the black money from the third world. The growth of black money in the world is a barometer in measuring the progress of the GDP etc of that country. How can they claim to be economically forward? They live on black money. If the nations world over take stringent measures to stop creation of black money the nation Swiss will collapse to a pauper. It is a fact
every Indian should be given swiss or cayman citizenship. After all our hard earned income is eaten up by a flurry of taxes and end up invested in Switzerland courtesy all mega-scams.
