Yes, it is not appropriate to compare 3G with 2G. But what is forgooten, is the wide scope and coverage of 2G, for the rural India. So, 2G may inherently have more potential than 3G. So, definitely, there is more potential for the revenue also. A simple auction would have fetched more money, else, how people made money out of the same transaction, by re-selling the licenses?

today ,re- selling and sub-contract happens in all most all the field, their are some people in india who are earning with out doing any investment, govt must cancel the permit of the leessor who does like this..
Whats happening in the 2G scam is akin to the movie Maalamal Weekly made by Priyadarshan(orginal in Malayalam was far better though). One by one the enitre village is sucked into the greed of ill-gotten wealth and the entire village becomes a party to it and legitimise it. In the same fashion 1.76 lac Crores of 2G money looted is sucking the entire cabinet , starting from Raja,(SoniaG and RahulG), PM , Sibal and Montek . The fact that Industry , Media and Beauracracy are party to it is well documented. Will not be surprised if the Opposition and judiciary are also party to it soon and toe a similar line that there was no loss.

Chandra sholud be sent to Chandra.. 3G scam is not about the money looted by goverment, it is the loss incurred by goverment as it undervalued the bidding amount... Get the basics right...

Congress blame NDA for following same rule of change in price .Only thing they forget base price in the time of NDA. Please stop fooling people in the name of bad ruling of NDA , rather UPA is worst as per common man is concerned!!!

As a child, I faced hooligans, who refused to listen and acted as buffoons. Nothing would work with them. They talked all sorts of silly things to justify their stupidity, their elder never intervened and remained silent as there was nothing to defend. Current congress regime is similar, they decided to let hooligans takeover and put up silliest of logic to defend themselves. Our newsbyte hungry media is more than happy to dance on their tune and has always avoided asking straight questions. I still remember, in 1987, how Indian Express ran a sustained campaign to expose congress, wish we have some luck now. Another thing I noticed was complete silence of congressman once news came that wikileaks would expose names of account holders in swiss banks. Let us hope that some obvious names should come out, then again you would see how they would defend something indefensible. Don’t get surprise if PM himself question credibility of wikileaks, who, in history of india, will be rated at the worst PM, way below DeveGowda, Gujral, Charan Singh and even VP Singh However, Indian per se are more intelligent than what congress think of them, after seeing it thru 1984-1989, it was never given even a simple majority and it will never happen again. Just look at UP, Bihar, WB, TN, Gujrat, congress revival is next to impossible. It is a sinking ship in MP and Maharashtra. It will never get even a simple majority in any major Indian state in near as well as distant future. Just
govt is itself protecting the culprits even in the court of law by justifying their wrongdoing in broad day light.Now we have such smart lawyer(lier) ministers who dare to prove such wrong facts.Who will justify that u sell spectrum in 2008 at the price decided in 2001.This govt.is a promoter of private operator.helping & abetting their all ill will & enforcing its own organisation e.g.BSNL to bankruptcy by its maligned policy.
