Some awakening this! Hope not for con gress!
by Pravin Wategaonkar on Jan 18, 2011 01:14 PM

Sticking neck out during political turmoil is uncomman for this group n hence a welcome gesture. Proposal to strenghten Lokayuktha good suggestion. Surprisingly with all scams in Maharashtra, nobody knows who is the lok ayukth in Maharashtra. He has not taken any cognisance of anything happenning here yet. Adarsh,Lavasa, Renuka Housing etc.
1. Can any of these gentlemen pl approach Maharashtra Lokayuktha thru their representative? They will find out how congress places stooges in institutions where they rule. Whereas when Santosh Hegde quit, None less than L.K. Advani urged him to stay on knowing he may still go after his BJP CM. Thats leadership n commitment to clean public life.
2. Suggestion of Elected reps debating... seems to be at congress behest. Had Parliament not been stalled on JPC, would these guys be talking of debate? Debated it was, the 2G issue in parliament in 2007-08, no one took note. Parliament stalled. everyone now thinks really why no JPC? scarred that a incompetent economist PM will be eaxmined by JPC?

No Option for Common man:
by abhishek sharma on Jan 18, 2011 01:11 PM

The nexus between politicians, bureaucrats, industrialists and even the media, that caused scams worth $50 billion in just 2010 alone, has shaken the faith of the common man in the system. There is lot of frustration in him, But alas..! he is ready to live with this rotten system , in absence of a TRUE LEADER.

Open letter

With all respects to the big weights, who have signed this "open letter, I beg to differ on one point.

It is very very easy to throw the ball into the other person's court and say it has nothing to do with you. It is akin to a child throwing all responsibilities on his/her parents! Very childish, eh. How correct would that be? Each one of the signees need to answer, individually and collectively.

I would have appreciated them, had they come together and said what they are going to do to undo whatever commonly they find as need to be undone - right from corruption. Would not that have been a more pro-active and positive step? And asked other like minded leaders, industrialists and the common man to come together, street-wise, village-wise, block-wise, district-wise, state-wise.

No, no I am in no way saying that these moral less politicians, so called leaders of our country have less to answer for the situation our country finds itself - right from Mr Manmohan and Mrs Sonia.

Top leaders are responsible
by Mr Walker on Jan 18, 2011 01:07 PM  | Hide replies

I say that all top leaders of the ruling party are responsible for the corruption happening right under their own nose and hence this country wants them to be punished or make good the losses to common man.

The aam aadmi cannot be forced and divided and subjected to miseries just because they deny that corruption should be abolished from this nation.

In the past few months the people and the media re repeatedly asking the same question to the top Congress brass that if you are not responsible for this corruption mess then who is ??

Rahul and Sonia are as human as any other person in this country and I dont see why they should not be taking any responsibility for the mess we see today they have enjoyed the fruits of power directly or indirectly for so many years now , what have they done for common man ?

Sonia won the elections against NDA saying that common man did not benefit from their policies , well todays Congress policies are killing farmers and the aam aadmi with rising corruption, prices, crime and every single bad thing you can think of.

Please show us results or leave for the good of this nation.

Shameless people
by waste cricket on Jan 18, 2011 01:05 PM  | Hide replies

The same people who are so called concerned over Corruption, encourage bribing for getting their favours done by successive govts.

Is thers a need for govt to acquire fertile land from poor at rockbottom prices and set up SEZs etc for these people??
Is it required to give them tax sops etc when common man is paying taxes irrespective of price rises, inflations etc??
Do they deserve subsidies for everything right from land, electicity, water, capital investment etc when they are not even available for poor people even after paying the fair market price??
Cant they cut down on heavy salaries and incentives to their employees which is fuelling infations affecting poor people more than anyone else??
Should they be allowed to encourage artificial stock price increases which in turn fuels inflation and create volatility in the markets??

where is the so called social Responsibilty from these corporates when there is such large scale illeteracy, poverty, scarcity for water, hospitals, schools, toilets etc in villages??

Govt has to be blamed for corruption, but there are these corporates who are paying bribes and encouraging corruption.

Corruption , corruption.............
by krishnan balasubramanian on Jan 18, 2011 01:05 PM

Enough have been written by various individuals on corruption and inflation which have seen new heights during the rule of current UPA Govt. But it appears the Govt headed by well known Enonomists MMS, assisted by ministers like PM, SC, etc are too little concerned about the affairs. The poor , middle class people feel helpless, frustated under the circumstances. Will our PM wake up and take immediately some very bold measures to tackle the ever deteriorating situation which almost seems to have gone out of control.
