every transaction tax @15 and every one should pay 20@ of total salary to govt ,everyone should be accoutable, answerable and liable tobe terminable and fined in monetary,,,those are needy give them money back directly to their account, ban whole cash and make every one atm, credit and identy card with finger print,eye lids identy not alterable,,make everyone responsible for their action,,what happen in australi and newzealand,,,
Central Excise, Income Tax and Sales Tax departments in India are considered the most corrupt departments. There is need to tax heavily on actors, crickters, politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen who all the time boost and showcase their cars, bunglows and clothes on T.V. Channels.
Only an idiot can suggest that. Taxable Indians are one of the most taxed in the world. And what they get are red tape, sleeping bureaucracy, no infrastructure. In this madness they have to do business. If you tax them more, it will only result in more corruption/ black money. Seems article written by a mentally challenged person.
super rich are becoming richer day by day not only because of their hard work and intelligence but also because of the favorable govt policies and exploitation of labour and natural resources without paying for it.No dout therec are large no of lazy and non working people,nevertheless either they should pay more tax or hace corporate social responsibility.

how much tax you have paid in your entire life or are you a farmer with a mercedes? superrich are becoming richer because they have brains. A poor man having 6 children will always become more poor.

Mr. Verma, You talk like a typical Indian Rich spoilt brat. Evem a middle class family has 1 or max two child nowadays, and find it very difficult to survive. Are you born in india ?
Rather than imposing more and more taxes in absolute terms, why doesn't the government get the rich to donate money as per the percentages they want to impose, to education and/or other needy causes such as literacy, adult education, disabled rehabilitation. This way they can see the positive effects of their money going off in taxes and won't be so easily disposed to stash it away or misreport it.
Many people don't like paying taxes simply because they believe they get nothing out of it. A more direct approach is required in this case.
Truth is Indian Public is chor and corrupt don't give then any tax exemption. Percentage of people paying income tax in India is 0.8% of the total population rest all 90% Indians show there annual income below tax lemit.Truth is that 90% of common man Indians don’t pay correct Income Tax.My Uncle is running a Mom & Pop Store in Tier II city, i know very well how much he earns and how much he pay tax My Uncle earns 20000 to 25000 per day but pay zero tax.

let's stop generalizing about indians. It is a large country and it takes a lot of effort to just get things up and running. The IT department has been improving their collections steadily over the years and things are becoming streamlined. Many items are deducted at source and it is not as bad as before. People tend to hold on to money, it is a natural reflex. It will change gradually but surely. Most youngsters today are ok with investing in specific tax saving instruments or just paying their taxes.
To be looted by the super corrupt? India should get back all scam money, all black money from swiss banks and do away with taxes for 20 years and then think of taxes again.
instead of increasing bthe tax burden reduce it and increase the spread offer incentives for tax payments and compliance we are not slaves but owners and partners in the enterprise called INDIA let more people earn more. let there be more useage related taxes than general taxes with no corelation to its use. let every demand for tax be justified against its spending let the govt sell the idea of contributing to a cause of the demand rather than holding a gun of demand without justification . because demand by the govt or the goon aCROSS THE STREET CANNOT BE DIFFERENCIATED BASED ON WHO IS DEMANDING IT. let not say pay but contribute. if the govt cannot sell the idea of the money for a cause than the purpose is not worth it.
Instead of looking at options of increasing tax liability on certain income groups;Govt needs to take strong & harsh measures to curb corruption and scams. If you take into consideration all the money lost in Scams, it would've been sufficient enough to cover development expenses of many projects. Even if the Govt has done by Removing Kalmadi from OC office & arresting Raja, the question is where is all the money? Make these rascals pay back all the money gone in their pockets if u really wanna see some difference;else this Govt will surely go down the drain. I wont be amused if Eygpt like protests will be seen in India too.
Why western country so rich. they tax their citizen almost 30% of income. Govt has more money to buy high tech and use it to develop infrastructur. in india we hardly pay 5% of income. so govt does not have money to buy high tech stuff, or develop inrastructur. one worli sea link bridge takes 10 years. in west it would be done in flat 1 year. its highly essential that every body pay tax, not just rich people. the excuse that govt is currupt is not true. in wes they earn commission openly. in india its hidden in form of bribe so they eat more. anyway as awarness and technology grows curruption will reduce slowly. but there is no excuse to not pay tax. tax money is like oxygen to build our home i.e. a beautiful place.
