Department of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has put a cap on World One stating it would "interfere" with radar operations in Mumbai Airport. Yeah - right - so the three Airports in New York don't function ? Looks more like "Give us money and we'll let you construct"
Waqf board - out of nowhere- came out of the blue after all auctions were conducted transparently - and is now asking for stoppage of India Tower (the first image in this article)!
Reason? They say the land belongs to them and only a MOSQUE can be built there! Can you believe it? Stop India Tower and build a mosque!!!
India is doomed with such pathetic organizations having ANY say in the matter
Be proud that even our country to have nice buildings coming up, whenever something constructive coming always people criticize. This shows to word that Bharat is not behind any country.

If you do not construct and invest in infrasturcture how will industry progress and how will be jobs generaed to pull those 40% out of poverty ?
WHY such tall buildings? What is the big deal about them? When power supply goes what will happen to those who are in the elevators? Now in bombay how many hours power cut daily? What about security threat especially Bombay?

Buildings like these always have their own power supply..these days even apartments/institutions run on their own power supply...

generators.power back up.Yes in what is called gated community. In banglore most new buildings have them. But others suffer,no power most of the time.Politicians failed to improve bangalore. Some banglorean will shout at me.In the evening when it has to be cheerful, bangalor is gloomy in the dark.No power in most of the ares.

Umm, guys, this entire discussion about buildings having their own 'power generation' thing is basically built around the premise of having 'power backup' by using diesel-run polluting generators? I understand that the power situation in most cities is really bad, but that doesn't mean we run our buildings 24*7 on generators and kill the surroundings. I stay in Gurgaon and I've seen how miserable the result of using this system of 'power generation' has been. Noise pollution, air pollution, monopoly in charging whatever the developers want to for this 'self-generated' power etc.
720mt tower in mumbai..really.. will suck up so many resources that are already scarce.. electricity, water..etc.. though the fault is wit h the govt for not increasing capacity
Re: dsfds
by Hemant Mishra on Aug 05, 2011 06:25 PM
Yes...but I am sure they will look for alternate solutions too like rain water harvesting, solar energy, which the govt is putting as mandatory for any new structure

But the electricty and water it consumes will generate more jobs and revenue? The building is not for show but for business activity. So don't cry about resource utilisation. We need to invest in modern infrastructures to attract more business.
