reason is chennai is having less number of auto comparing to other cities. means less number of autos given permit.

Dear Shiva, Please come only Once to Coimbatore and you will then never say Chennai autos are the costliest in India. The reason is Coimbatore auto drivers have to go to visit for darshan in TASMAC right from the morning and so they are not ready to do more trips but so exploit the passengers in every trip they undertake.
There are certain kind of surveys regularly published in rediff to brainwash people to believe that All Is Well in India under Sonia Gandhi's rule...
Yaar,atleast compare an apple to an apple..you cannot compare taxi fare paid by some one who earns a salary of USD 10,000 per month with some one who gets USD 500 per month...
