leave aside the taxi...instead the article should focus on taxi drivers...i cant say which city boasts of best...but the only thing is true is that DELHI taxi drivers are WORST all round the world... not only taxi drivers but the human race in delhi is also the worst amongst all and even monkeys would be ashamed to see that their evoluted lot is of such quality...
First they say New Delhi: $0.42 - $0.76 (Rs 22.0 - Rs 34.2) and then "The taxi fare in Delhi is Rs 20 for the first km and then Rs 11 per every subsequent km. " By above calculation, minimum fare would come to Rs 42 for 3 kms. Same case for Mumbai.

The taxi is either Mercedes or Toyato not indica as we have in India. So obviously the fare is more

Not MUCH to do with that, i think - Pune Mumbai taxis [the A/C blue coloured coolcabs]are of 3-4 makes but not v noticable change in fares. All over the world the mercedes is just another car, slihghtly better [except for v hi-end models ofcourse]

actually with availability of autos ,indian transport situation is prob the best. its pity that population is so high that it makes things look bad no matter what. also the filth and dilapidated buildings makes things look bad.
I have ain idea to dispose off waste from India. Collect all the wasted gathered over a period of one month fro the entire country and then send it to the moon and dump it there. We can do this on a monthly basis..the costs required for this will be from the black money stored in the country. We can have a clean India in both ways.
good to hear india is at bottom of list.well done! taxi in these euro cities are so expensive! but i have seen euro tourists are cribbing about a few dollar
