Prices
by arungopal agarwal on Sep 24, 2010 01:06 PM

How the prices can come down, when Govt. doubled the salaries of its employees, politicians got it doubled plus income from No.2 account by both, they both are spending lavishly, businessman put their mark of profit on cost, they are not affected, only people who are depending on interest or under/un-employed are sufferring heavily, no one is interested to listen them, till they resort to Naxal or maoist type movement.

Prices and State Govts
by Srinivasan Iyer on Sep 24, 2010 01:05 PM

There is some element of truth in this statement of the Finance Minister. State Govts have not tackled hoarding as in karnataka as these farmers.dealers are part of the contributors to the party's kitty. The Govt run HOPCOMS sells fruits and vegies at least 20% higher prices than hypermarkets! tax on petroleum products is highest in the country!
Madhya Pradesh has found to have grains in the godowns rotting instead of distributing to the people. BJP Govts are therefore equally responsible for price rise.

Miserably failed govt
by ravindra avsare on Sep 24, 2010 12:57 PM

This govt has totally failed in controlling inflation which is at its highest since last 2 years. And still there is no sign of its cooling down. Due to world recession and economies the oil prices touched a high of 150 $ per barrel and also 55$ per barrel in last 2 years. But in india the inflation has remained around 12 - 15% all this period. What this govt full of so called economists is doint. It should resign at once instead of giving assurances of cooling down of inflation every near future.

Govt. is Inhuman
by prashant gupta on Sep 24, 2010 12:56 PM

The Govt. is least affected by price rise. Only the common man's back is broken because of inflation.

Inflation is curbed.
Long live the inflation.

NARAYAN KURUP
Price rice and inflation
by NARAYAN KURUP on Sep 24, 2010 12:55 PM

The present UPA Government at the centre is the most incompetent and inefficient after independence. The prices of essential commodities have gone up beyond the reach of common man but inspite of hollow promises and false assurances nothing concrete has been done to control price rise. The worst sufferers are the people working in unorganized sector where they get only meagre consolidated and fixed salary for years, whereas the employees in organized sector and in Government's payroll get periodical hike by way of increased D.A. and Pay Commission's recommendation etc. It is funny that the people's representatives such as MPs and MLAs, with less academic qualification get abnormal hike in their salaries, allowances and perks for which the ruling party and the opposition are equally interested and responsible. In the name of democracy, there is political business in this country and those who come and beg for votes at the time of election are not at all concerned about the plight of the poor and middle class.
