Do not blame old people who has wisdom and experience, they are very good in guiding the new and young generation. Even in Govt offices, the young and middle aged are more corrupt than an elderly employees. remember, one day you will became old and see the your fate, hope you are born to parents, who eirher demised or you might have kept in old age homes

Mr. Reddy-do not keep emotions, ours is a young country with an age of 40, in order to provide employment to these youngis and have proper utilisation of age factor, we must retire all oldis on army pattern where a Lt. col. retires at 50, but he serves as advisor or something or other.

Prices soar, policymakers just talk
by Hebbar R on Sep 24, 2010 04:01 PM

This is the effect of having a PM who is an "Economist of International repute" and who is aided by a Politician Finance Minister and a internationally educated Dy Chairman of the Planning Commission. It is a disgrace to all these eminent personalities that they are unable to control the spiraling prices. Their talk of the aam aadmi obviously is too damn hollow.

The Finance Minster saying that prices are a collective responsibility of all parties is just passing the buck. His retort that states levy taxes on Fuels is also not acceptable. He should have lead the way by reducing Customs and other taxes at the Central level. He would then have had a moral right to ask the states to follow suit. But, he does not have such sentiments. He needs to practice before he preaches.

The Leaders of Inredible India
by Manoj Dev on Sep 24, 2010 01:35 PM  | Hide replies

Only Mr. M R Benkatesh' words make sense. None of the political parties / politicians have any desire to ban the trading of futures in food grains. Why in the first place this was introduced in our economy - politicians and their 'policy advisor' economists henchmen would never truthfully explain to public.
Pranab Mukherjee has effectively confessed terming inflationary pressure as collective responsibility of all political parties.

Yes of course - the age old nexus between politics/administration and business - why else would the govt. introduce futures trading in agri-products?

Very Right Commodity Trading is the main factor behind woes of Common Man. Govt should ban this, but they won't cause Minister & Wealthy people invest their money in it. Globally the powerful & rich people are behind suffering of Common man in each nation.

I agree it should not be distributed for free.. But!!!

There are 37% poor prople!! Why are they poor? No job to earn money to buy food.
Think about this. Are we a developed nation?-No
Do we need to build the infrastructure to be developed?-Yes!
So what does these 2 questions answer to you.
Use that 37% people to build the infrastructure needed to be developed. Give those people who work.
This helps the poor. Also helps the nation. Didn't this simple thing come to the minds of the so called INTELLECTUALS of our advisory board/planning commission or not even to the GREATEST ECONOMIST PM MMS?!!!
I know that the govt. of India has such program of smaller size. Rural employment guarantee program it is called if I am not wrong.
Why don't the FCI asses the food they collect n store and advice the Govt. as to when to use them? The problem is not just with the Govt. It is also with the FCI babus who do not right advice to the Govt. I request them to be held responsible n take action against them for negligence.!! But does this request of mine falls in to the eyes of any of the policy/decision makers?!! Thats the question to be asked..

Basic question, why the number of poors are increasing when 50% of budget is spent on them from the last 60 years? When this goondagardi of spending tax payers money will stop.

The important thing is how well the money is spent. Are they prioritizing as to how and on which they have to spend the money on? And the second thing is how much of that money is reaching the ones it is intended to? During the period of Vajpayee he brought some transparency in Governance. But the transparency has gone once again with the rise of UPA.
