Though many systems are updated and a lot of corrective measures are adopted to boost trade and commerce, but mindset of Govt. Babus are of British time, they see everything with doubt and have negative approach, no one can question them or punish them till they become 60.

i agree with u, but India has still a little long way to outwit other developing countries. as india is taking top-10 position in each and every development of the world and likely to be the best among the countries.

by 2020 India will make the best position in the world whether in technology or whatever.

All hopes for a better tommorrow is fading day by day

We the people are cornered and trapped by all evil forces, forces of corrupt elements bent on sucking our blood to the last drop, forces of caste and communal elements bent on balconising this great nation.Probably,Democracy may not be our cup of tea,at least that is what the six decades of nervousness point to.What we achieved in the past 60 years is just political callousness, judicial corruptness, and administrative ineptness. And we can expect the relapse of the same callousness in the coming decades.Old habits seldom dies.

Xen Wao,
The ranking should also be viewed with something called -Freedom-, freedom of expression, fundamental human rights. Since you do not know what that means, you are surprised.
Once you come to know such things you will feel pity on yourself.

Deganga - Congis and Commies turning blind eye to green terrorism
by arihantak on Sep 10, 2010 09:36 PM

Deganga in North 24 Paraganas is in a mess with looting, killing and destruction of many temples. Information from that area is being sent out in emails to people looking for help. While the national press completely blacks it out and then shows it in a way that no one can figure out the gravity of the situation.

India and Indians
by piri on Sep 10, 2010 09:07 PM  | Hide replies

keep comparing themselves with China at every turn, imagining that they are true competitors.

But one of the chief hallmarks of true head to head competition is that both the competitors will have their eyes riveted on the other's activities and intensely aware of each other.

This vital aspect is missing in the supposed India-China rivalry. While India has become near paranoid about 'keeping up' with China (just that thought itself is hugely comic if one were to go by the yawning gap between the two), the Chinese are barely aware of India's alleged status as its competitor !

The Chinese are actually keen on following the US (who they would like to think of as their true competitors) and any suggestion that India imagines itself as a true rival to it will be laughed away just as Indians would laugh away suggestions that Pakistan or Sri Lanka can be its rivals !!

I disagree on the part of Srilanka. Sri Lanka ranks higher than India in terms of Per Capita GDP.
Indians are living in a self-illusioned world. Please let us live the way we prefer.
