also, poor should be given vocational training in trades that get them jobs..like bricklaying, painting, security, gardener, minor car repair, carpentry, concreting, plastering, cooking etc

Lack of technology.

Thats main reason for poverty. we dont think how to build and maintain things. how to use different ways, techno to achive the result easily. most of indian are walking jombies. they live fantasy. no training is given to make them aware of whats reality out there, how to deal with them. western education is they teach you not to worry about thought in head. but worry about reality, whats out there and make it better and better. thats mantra that will remove starvation. otherwise whats govt gonna do. they dont have magic button. its up to citizen to make better system.

In this whole sorry episode, the utter incompetence of the agriculture ministry is thoroughly exposed. No wonder the Hon'ble Minister in charge was given a rating of 2 out of 10 by a recent India Today survey.

While the SC directive is noble, GOI needs to draw the guidelines to qualify who the poor are and how to reach the poor in all states for an equitable distribution.

Mr. PM's Assertion
by Gopu Rajasekar on Sep 09, 2010 12:53 AM  | Hide replies

I feel that the assertion that the Prime Minister is showing is being shown at the wrong persons here. Instead of being assertive at his fellow minister and his subordinates for their act of recklessness in dealing with the food waste issue, he has replied negatively to the suggestions put forth by the Court. This shows that he is not interested in the cause of the poor people but what is paramount for him is party support and his coalition government.

Already the Congress government has shown in the Bhopal gas leak issue on whose side it, the side of the US and its corporate heads. We are well aware of the roles played by Rajiv Gandhi, Arjun Singh and Narasimha Rao in the Bhopal gas leak case and the further developments in that. The Congress is further strengthening that position by going ahead with its Nuclear Liability bill, at a time when Germany and most of the other developed nations are taking concrete steps to phase out nuclear energy technology. Mr. PM, kindly review your stand on this as this country can't withstand another Bhopal-like tragedy.

Food distribution.

A policy of mid day meals, as there in the schools are there be deployed. But all the person to be fed be deployed for social developemental works, includind construction of structures which can charge the acquifer. The water table which was at 20 feet below are at 400 feet below the ground level. But UPA-II or State Governments are willing to to this. They will always like to deploy the tankers instead.
