In case you missed it...he was referring to something in 1994!! If you read the article...this is what inspired the idea of mobile money.
astonished to see that his wife spends several hours to write cheques for credit card... which century are u living in man? have u heard about things like autopay, internet banking, mobile banking etc... i have lots of regards for this man but what he proposes here just does not make the cut
Concept is good. When will this entrepeneur having lobbying influence right from Rajiv Gandhi till Manmohan Singh as being his advisor put some effort in building network security over internet, win confidence among indians in using payment cards on internet.
How many of Indians use cards on internet payment on sites hosted in India?. Indians have confidence using their credit cards only on sites developed or hosted in western world. Will Indians, go for this concept that easily in India on mobile phones?.
Would be good, if Pitroda can influence our PM in automating every PSU units so that people get acquainted and gets confidence in getting reliable service over internet or phone. eGovernance projects are started, how many are using them?.
Why so for all public departments information is not available online and forced to enact RTI to get the information or killed as an RTI activist?.

U are a fool to call Sam that way, he is the one who revolutionized telecom in India. Before him you had to wait for 5-6 years to get a land line. If any Tom Dick can do it then why dont you do it.

Sam is promoting his own company through this article and so-called book. I knew him when he was in US. To credit him with telecom revolution is to credit Rajiv with computerization of India. Can we forget the role of IITs, Infosys, WIPRO, and TCS in the computerization of India to credit Rajiv Gandhi with computers! The real revolution did not happen until Rao ruled India. Sam, in his latest role, is a complete failure. He was promoting this company C-SAM when I met him at DC in '07. Now, this news piece makes it look like he transforms India! How surprising it is? Let us believe in ordinary people. Do not believe in high profile cronies who live in the backyard of Rajas.

As Inamik says even 10th failed guys can give this kind of superficial ideas. For your information, he is not in the ranks of Kalam sir or even Manmohan sir. This fellow just another marvadi guy wearing technology cloth

The article gives an impression that Pitroda in his governmental capacity brings in this. Further it also projects Pitroda as a great inventor when it is nothing more than an iPhone/Andriod app. Why is his role in the Planning commission highlighted, and connected, to discuss his private venture? It is OK to privately direct a company, however, giving it a color of the government is completely false and objectionable.
So how much public money will be wasted to build this stupid app? I guess they will spend some Billion dollars for this project, employ 1000s of people and pocket millions into the big politicians and bureaucrats. Spend a couple of millions on PR and media, and finally come up with a stupid mobile app? So this is how you add value to the capital available at your disposable?
Good Idea but will Mr. Pitroda, devlop a guranteed system by which person can get his mobile back if stolen or lost. Because at present the system is there but no service provider, police deparrment willing to co-operate the person when his/her mobile gets lost or stolen.
