Beware of CIL
by Sagar Muniram on Oct 18, 2010 11:44 AM  | Hide replies

Retail investors please beware of this OPI. Keep in mind the IPOs of NMDC and NHPC which are still trding below its issue price and were called as Navratna Co of India. The Central govt has looted poor retail investors in those IPOs.

has to be. I dont think a babu run company can do without your tax rupees on the long run. Sell the company to a private investor I dont mean Reliance then I will invest in CIL stock.

Coal is not just an Environmental disaster but financially not a good long term bet. Both Morally and logically doesn't make sense.

Whatever
by brahmarakshas on Oct 18, 2010 10:58 AM

Whatever it's interests elsewhere, there sure does not seem to be much interest in the IPO in rediff forums. Only 11 comments so far.

IPO of Coal India
by kailashchandra bohra on Oct 18, 2010 10:58 AM

Can we expect a better result out of this PSU , so far it is being Governed by the Ministry of UPA. Who is there to watch the interest of the investor. We are observing the fate of AI, Indian Air Lines and others. Unless and untill it is being diluted further, it will not deliver the goods.
We are already observing the fates of States Power Projects, based on this coal. They are to shut their units in want of supply. But we are boasting as having one of the largest coal mines.
WE SHOULD DILUTE TO FURTHER.

Idea is not the expose the key element

Phase I - Create PSU using tax payer money. Swindle in the process of it's creation and growth.

Phase II - Once, the PSU has accumulated enough asset worth billions, privatise it and get huuuuge kickbacks.

Use media to fool aam admi on if an industry shoulb be public or private. Corruption can be side issue/distration, but never a main issue to be dealt with. If it gets too hot, make scapegoats out of dissidents! Mission accomplished!!!

Excellently written. UPA is the most corrupt government ever. The Italian lady seems to have mastered the art of destroying every institution in INdia, using corruption money (from Telecom Scams - 50000 crores, Commonwealth Games scam - 25000 crores and counting), NREGA (50000 crore and counting), to buy every instrument of power (bureaucrats, judiciacy, and offcourse the so-called free press, re diff included) to further the interest of a single family - the Nehru dynasty. Why can't the Indians get rid of this family from the political scene ? They are destrying Election COmmision, have made the office of the President of India a farce by getting their family chef as President...this is just the height of it). India is fast becoming a banana republic where every character is busy filing his pockets at the cost of Tax Payor and Aam Aadmi.

DON'T BUY..
by EEEEEEE on Oct 18, 2010 10:51 AM

When the whole world is going for alternate energy sources and the like, CIL is greedily thinking of more mining at forest areas. Please do not encourage this, we all know what corporates are like and moreover this is a state run monopoly..Using your money they will buy out the environment ministry and supari out the protestors..The Western Ghats will be no more..
