about Ahmedabad and Bengaluru give your thoughts on Chennai... It is the only city probably havent recieved much support from central government, no Hindi, no good railways, no big business tycoons, but it is grown inch by inch by the peoples hard work... were the money is spread more or less equally, no religious fanatics, no cast discrimination, safer for women .... I am proud to be born in that city

the thing I like about Chennai is it is still steeped in South Culture unlike Bangalore which has become a masalax mix. the negative of course is horrific weather and lack of water

Let us not forget the reality. It is not alone Chennaiites hard work buit also investment or rather... attracting the investments that made the difference here. Let us not play Tamil sentiments and things here, it is a collective effort. There are soo many north indians coming in here contributing for the growth. Embrace every one. Have fun. India Rocks...

Dubai and Abu Dhabi
by Rasfun on Oct 17, 2010 02:27 PM  | Hide replies

Dubai and Abu Dhabi in UAE are home to lakhs of Indians. In fact Indians outnumber local citizens in UAE. And the majority of Indians here are non-Muslims. Come here and see how Indians belonging to different parts of India and of different religions and languages live cordially. UAE has progressed, so are the Indians and people belonging to more than 100 nationalities who live here. You people can keep your ideologies of hatred with you - it is a part of your divide and rule policy. Please don't try to export it to UAE.

Dude, people from different religions/cultures do not live "cordially" in the UAE, they live like scared sheep there. It is an Islamic country where non-M*slims have no rights whatsoever. Leave alone the non-Ms, even M*slims from ind/pak/bang are treated like scum by the Arabs. Numbers count for nothing in the Gulf..migrants can not dare to ask for anything.

Where there is fear, there is no quarrel, but that isnt exactly "living cordially" , is it ?

Most of the indians are live in Middle east( Islamic country) last 20-30 years also. not only south indian people, nothies also, those who very gud cader of RSS also, but in Middle east they never say against islam and muslims but same people in india start problem, becoz in india if they will do then they will take some thng from Govt.. i m sure Those who r Non muslims live in Middle east they feel better than India , otherwise how they live last 30 years with whole family.. in gulf dont ask to govt for any thng , no need to strike, band for Power, water and all,, 24hr water supply, no power cur for single second. no corruption. Rules are same for Arabs or outsiders.. ths is islamic rule.ok. here in gulf every where Kingship no democracy but we feel better than democracy.. Every body is following a Traffic rule other paid money, so no body trying to break the signals and all. More than 60 lakh Indian live in Middle east.. and 60% non muslims only.. ok.. My dear

All well said and done but for the fact controlling a Small place with out any problem like any sides(Pak, China and Lanka) and the world depends on the Oil from you is easy.

If you look at Non Citizen have to pay for everything starting from Water to Electricity while for citizen everything is Free, they break the Traffic rule, have a inside knowledge. They are less numbers, they break the Traffic rules and don't pay fine also but the other country people follow it and they are the majority in Gulf makes everything looks life safe.

Hi Balven,
Please come to Dubai and see it for yourself. BR Shetty is a Hindu, Joy Alukas is a Christian - all among the richest Indians here. Most of the textile and computer wholesale market here is controlled by Hindu Sindhis. If there is a fear among non-Muslims here will they still come here in thousands every day? UAE has put business first - that is the secret of its success. As for religious freedom, come and see the temples and churches here. This is not to say UAE is a heaven, but millions of Indians make a living in UAE and other Gulf countries and they don't have such a negative opinion about the place of their choice to make their life better. Hatred is negative - it benefits no one.

Hi Rasfun,
i agree dubai is good, really good. i have lived their for 1 and half years and loved it and will come back again for sure. but here we are talking about fastest growing cities right now.we both know the condition of dubai, its running on the billions of fuel(read funds) from abu dhabi and its a known truth that abu dhabi and dubai dont like each other their is a huge gap between both cities.
dubai has gone down badly in global recession and honestly, it is not able to generate jobs, half of the construction business is stopped, villa's and apartments are running empty and everyday they are reducing rent prices.
I honestly wish dubai comes out of it crisis and shine again. dubai is just like india, you feel at home. but not like mr. syed jawahar said, very rich on the planet and stuff. your blowing it up way a bit.
Dubai is like second home to me.

hey man, you hit the nail on the head. indian/pakis/banglas/sri lankan....all SLAVES in the gulf, no one dares open their mouth because there is NO DEMOCRACY - if you want to live like slave you can come to middle east. whatever india is - it is the best, at least there is democracy. in dubai/abu dhabi only locals have all rights - other are treated worst than SHIT so MR. RASFUN (i think you are MAUZI) keep your ideology about dubai/abudhabi to yourself. dont give wrong impression.

hey bro, I am not against India. I am an India and I love my country.

But this UAE is so rich man...Iam working here. They have a lot of money and have u seen the Dubai mall - The world's largest mall!!??. The burj Dubai is the tallest building on earth!!!!. You have to pay 100dhms (Around 3000 INR) to go to the top of the tower!!!

Without any income tax, they are rich..I wonder if they start taking income tax like India (30%) then how bigger they will be!!!

Hi Mr. Jawahar,
Heard about dollar.
1 USD = 44.6 INR. UAE is good, but its really a small pond. i am a software guy like you i stayed in dubai for 1 and half years. so i know what your talking about. Dubai is good,. but not as your portraying, your just blowing things out of proportion. maybe visit usa or uk once and your vision might change.

Truth is Delhi has done wonderful job in putting up a world class show. it did made india look better in world's eye. which we need badly since we are competiting with china to atract foriegn invstor's confidence.
Keep up the great work Delhi. keep footpath clean. follow the lane on road no matter what. that will smothen the traffic. have zero tolerance for ciminals or people who take short cut. Build more park, road etc. Let whole india follow you as role model. Jai ho.
