India has been ranked 67, way below neighbouring countries like China and Pakistan, in a new global hunger index by the International Food Policy Research Institute.
The index, released on Monday, rated 84 countries on the basis of three leading indicators - prevalence of child malnutrition, rate of child mortality, and the proportion of people who are calorie deficient.
China is rated much ahead of India at the ninth place, while Pakistan is at the 52nd place on the 2010 Global Hunger Index, released by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in association with a German group Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe.

GOD has blessed so much to UAE, its true that who follows the commands of GOD for eg- you should not put tax on the earnings of individual!!! GOD will give more wealth from his provistions. Its sad that eventhough Indian gov is taking 30% tax from the employees but still we see a lot of poor people in India. Its a curse infact and all those who dont feed the poor will go to hell eg - Ambani's, Cine actors, Cricketing stars who have billions but no time to feed the poor!!
In UAE, when you visit a restaurent, you will notice that restaurent will be Indian, Servers will be Indian/pakistani/bangladesh, the people who are eating will be from USA,INDIA,PAKISTAN,PHILIPINES etc etc....And you will be amazed and just tell inside your heart - 'GOD - You are great!!!'.

Syed Jawahar - 2.35 Lakhs Indian Rupees is nothing. I am in Dubai since last 16 years. I have my own business and earn much more than the figures you are proud about. Despite giving the best of one's abilities, acumen, etc. to this country, one has to queue up every 3 years to get the visa stamped on one's passport. I have seen business people from India and Pakistan and Iran who are settled into Dubai/Sharjah during Second World War (1939 to 1945)who have toiled for 3 generations for this country and you find them standing in a queue at the Immigration and Labour department every 3 years to get their Residence Visa stamped on the passport. If you call this "Paradis" I will call you Naive at the least and a fool at the most.

oops, you are again? I would reiterate Dubai is a LOST PARADISE. They can't be a Business hub and They can be only a PRA HUB. They can be a decent Tourist Center but after sometime they can't attract anything. I think you were aware that 1 Dhs Value come down to 12 from 13. Open your eyes.
Abu Dhabi will never grow due to the Mentality of Local and their Sheik is not Broad minded like Dubai. So they can enjoy a short term success and then became a LOST PARADISE.
They day is not far way 1 Dhs value going to be 1 INR and that time we will see what Dubai and Abu Dhabi will do

As long as said countries' leaders stick their heads in sand, Dubai will survive. Maybe not hyper ... but much better than S. Asia anyday/anytime,... so-sorry to toot 'yer horn pardner ...
Consider also that as long as Middle-East, South and Central Asians keep 'stabbing their own countries in the back', Dubai has a strong business case.

I totally agree with your comment above Syed ... life in rich GCC countries, even Shia Iran, Azerbaijaan etc. is genuinely more secular, peacefull and tolerant of other nationlities/creed/religion rather than India, Paksitan, Sri Lanka ... let's just say S.Asia mostly.
Perhaps it's poverty and hardship that maps over to religious, business and social strife. hehe ... they call it ... Democracy!

Now there is a revised projection that the debt of UAE is going to increase to 135 Billion USD from the present 95 Billion. UAE is the top country in the world who contributes highest per capita to global warming on this planet. There are ultra rich arab sheikhs and also poor laborers local residents in UAE . Other than petroleum, and silica sand, everything is expensive in UAE. UAE can never match with fastest growing India and China on this planet. It was Abu Dhabi who helped with 30 - 40 billions in the Dubai debt crisis, otherwise Dubai would have gone with the wind by now . Europeans and Americans are coming to Dubai only because their own economies are in problem, there are no jobs there, and dirham is cheaper than Pounds and Euros and Dollar.
