Shop lifting seems to be ingrained in our people,i guess, since i can vouch for it.After all i hail from the state that has the finest shop-lifters who have made it into a fine art. I mean the politicians of Tamil Nadu. While the common man has to derive his happiness,in shop-lifting little little things, my honourable leaders of Tamil-nadu can beat any one hollow in that Game.In fact our whole real estate economy in Tamil Nadu is currently thriving on the 2G scam money,we shudder to think what will happen to our vibrant economy, unless we can Lay our hands on some public money soon. Hee... hee...

The 'vibrant' economy you refer to 'vibrates' entirely due to corruption !

For the majority (which is not corrupt), life in this 'vibrant' economy has never 'vibrated' nor ever will be 'vibrant' !!

Not just in India

Indians have a reputation for 'Shoplifting'. This is not just confined to India. Even in UK and Singapore. For instance in Singapore - at the famous Mastapa Shopping Centre, at the Cashier Point, every item is put in a plastic bag and locked with a plastic lock. All items when carried out are again inspected. In contrast, In Indian malls, the security is clearly lax. Perhaps the Security personnel are hand in glove in this racket. Unless Mall & shop owners do business with the motto ' Every shopper is a suspect' this will continue.

The common thread in almost all the messages is denial that there is something wrong with us. Why not be honest for once and accept that we are a nation of rooted dishonesy?

Pepsi, coke have MRPs on the bottle, why shopkeepers, hotels and other outlets sell at higher price. The manufacturers declare huge profits by selling flavoured water and drinks at huge margins. The so called CEOs need not boast their skills by sucking poor people, adding to the woes Finance minister squeezes money which in turn feeds the various ministers pockets. What else do you expect?
